Joe Bonamassa

Went to watch him in Brighton on the weekend.Absolutely fantastic show.

I've seen him before but he was literally twice as good as the last time I saw him,the man is a genius.

Got talking to his guitar tech before the show and he showed me the guitars that Bonamassa takes on tour with him(11 of them!!) and I jokingly asked if Bonamassa had an extra finger on his left hand,he said that he practises day and night and can only see him getting better and better.

Really is a great show and well worth checking him out.He has a quality band backing him with top class musicians.

Would be a good addition to Glastonbury, fingers crossed.

So, if I wanted to buy an album - any recommendations where to start?

You wont go far wrong with the newest album 'Different shades of blue' as it is pretty representative of the kind of stuff he plays at the mo.(Obviously I suppose)

'The ballad of John Henry' is another great album.

He also has loads of double live albums(at least 10) which obviously have most of his songs on.Live at Beacon Theatre is pretty good and he has a new one out this month  called live at radio city, haven't got that yet so can't comment.

If you've got Sky, his concert at the Royal Albert Hall is 'on demand'. Personally I'd skip past the first 45 mins or so as it is all acoustic but that's obviously down to personal taste.

Thanks, might well have a look at Sky .... and buy one of the two you've recommended.

Where did you see that? I've see  an earlier UK tour, tempted with Plymouth gig

He's doing 5 shows in the beginning of July called the British blues explosion.

Playing songs by the British blues artists that inspired him like Beck, Page and Clapton.

Already got tickets to the Bournemouth gig in March but very tempted by this.

This has nearly sold out so the £90 price didn't bother some people.

Wouldn't have minded going but for the £90 I would have spent on that I have got-

1 ticket for Coheed and Cambria/ Glassjaw in Kentish Forum £28

1 ticket for Therapy? Infernal Love tour in Bristol £18

1 Wales v Northern Ireland football ticket £20

1 tckets for Millencolin in Bristol £18

1 ticket for the Scuzz Uk throwdown tour in Bath £7

i reckon I got better value(oh, and I'll be watching Bonamassa in Bournemouth in March anyway)
