Silent Disco

This is my fifth Glastonbury and i've never gotten round to doing this. A couple of questions if you will?

 

A) Is it any good?

Am I right in saying that it is in the Park;

C) Is it open on Wednesday, and until what time?

D) Does it get packed out and what time is best to go to get in.

I think there's several... At least one in Sonic on Saturday, and one in Chameleon Bar on Wednesday. Probably more.

I went to one on Wednesday last year and it was rubbish. But, it was playing power ballads. It was like a bad night at Yates's. I'd love to go to one that plays some good dance music with friendly people getting down (rather than shrieking old Bon Jovi tunes), if anyone has any tips.

i went to it in 2013 was great. 3 diff djs, one playing dance one playing indie etc one playing cheese, ya just flicked a switch on ya headsets when ya wanted to change

Yeah, that's the one in sonic. I think it's £20 deposit for the headphones, but you can hang on to them all weekend and get your money back on the Sunday if you want. Just change them over if they run out of charge. The range varies, but we've had semi late nights there before, and then walked back to the tents with the headphones on, quite a nice way to wind down

The one in the park was cracking on the Thursday last year and year before. The queue can get a bit big sometimes but plenty of places to go for a pint to wait for it to die down. 

 

Lost a good few hours in there. A good mix of music.But I think there is only 2 channels in The Park one. Headphones not got the fancy lights on like seen at the sonic silent disco. And meant to be 3 channels at sonic

There is one in the Park, similar set up with three channels run by different DJs but you didn't need a deposit (it was '09 though so this may have changed) and it was such a laugh.

Is there 3 channels? I always end up in there after a park pub crawl on the thursday and a little worse for wear

 

Anyone going in here if you plan on spending a few hours make sure you have some drink with you. It can get hot in there. I'd recommend good mix of alcohol and soft drinks

Sonic one is on multiple nights, possibly every night. Don't know if it's on the Clashfinder as silent disco, but we've been in there till about 5am a couple of times

I was there till 8am last year on Sunday. Only the most hideous creatures were still in the tent at that time

the one with 3 on was on every night and the reception on the headphones is pretty good, we could still use em nearly in our tents which was near the exits

I believe the Hedz party on Thursday is run by propaganda, if people were trying to avoid that it really depends what you're into but yeah they're on between 10pm-7am

The silent disco in Park is every night. I got every year and love it, one of my favourite things to do. No deposit for the headphones. There can be a queue, so I'd recommend heading there straight after the headliner to avoid queue's later on.

There is a silent disco in silver Hayes, the sonic tent after all the acts and djs finish. This is the one you have to pay a deposit for the headphones.

Another at The Park. about half way up on the right hand side. No deposit needed

There is one on the Thursday night at chameleon bar (I think) but that's a one off and it's power ballads. I think chameleon bar is located between leftfield and Westholts?

The Heds Party in Sonic is every night from Thursday, went on the Saturday last year and had a great time.

Had one of my favourite nights in there last year, it's absolutely hilarious.
