DJ's after dark?

I have heard good things about the primal scream dj set, so it's on my must do this year list.

However the group I'm going with don't really want to see late night dj sets!! The only person they would contemplate is craig charles. So it looks like I will be going solo this year

I'm in a similar situation, but by that time i'll be too drunk to care/know who i'm with lol.

I'm very excited about the Primal Scream set. I love them. I adore Northern Soul. The two together will be amazing. #FourToTheFloor

Keep the faith brothers and sisters ✊✌️

From what I remember it was a lot of Northern soul and a lot of 60s garage stuff too... it's ace to hear it at the festival though especially when a lot of the other late night stuff is dance orientated, which is fine but it's nice to have a bit more variation! just be aware that bobby ain't there! (or wasn't last year) It's the guitarist I think.

I don't really know most of the DJs but there are a few that I recognise so gonna try and see some this year - totally at Altern-8 and if can get my ar*e over to SE corner want to see 808 State too..

oh oh and that northern Soul one sounds good too :)

This has got to be the most ridiculous statement of the year. So you think a DJ playing Northern Soul records sounds the same as one playing trance. WTF. Its like saying all guitar bands sound the same.

Exactly. DJs are as varied as music is.

Looking forward to so many DJ's after dark.

Thursday will most likely be DJ Pierre/Cerrone (Block 9) > Benji B (Stonebridge) > Gerd Janson b2b ATA (Beat Hotel) > Jackmaster (Greenpeace/Engine Room)

Friday is a lot more complicated, Maceo Plex (Arcadia) > Phuture (Live) > Ben UFO b2b Joy O, Nic Tasker and more (Stoneridge)

This is all i've had time to work out so far. all subject to change, having to miss so so many DJ's alone the way :'(

No-one up for 2 Bad Mice and Hyper On Experience on Thursday night? Wondering how busy it will be.

My mate wants to go to that. The rest of us want to go to CircoLoco. We went in there laat year at about 3 ish on the Thursday night for the last 2 hours. Not my kind of thing, but it was a great venue, I had a good time. There were about 100/150 in last year.

Friday: I'm going to try and see DJ Die at either Heaven or Hell (1-2) then Alex Metric (2-4) on Friday night; usually go to the Temple but the techno might not be quite what I need.

Saturday: Would go to the Temple for Plump DJs, Vinyl Junkie and Mickey Finn, but logistics will prob make that a relatively early night.

Sunday: Finish off with Grandmaster Flash (11-12) in Sonic, followed by Altern-8 (1-2.30) in Arcadia.

    • There’s a few in there which could go either way or I’m not bothered if I miss but think that’s now be pretty set.  Few rubbish clashes like Kasabian/Loyle plus Reytons/Pixies/CMAT but I’ll head with the lads to the most popular one.   (And yes no Byrne or Twigs, just can’t into either)
    • I saw somewhere they were advertising Lewis' day as him live on Glagow Green and only mentioned Amy Mcdonald and CMAT as support, 0 mention of the festival  I completely agree this will probably be the last one which is a shame because the first 2 seemed so promising and now its turned into middle of the road rubbish with acts you can see everywhere else  Anyone know if the BBC are covering it next week as it'll be fascinating to see how full (or empty) it is
    • Did anyone catch Viagra Boys last night? A rollicking good set, with a little more free jazz than I expected.   if you’re up early, Walabi is doing a super job in the Cupra Pulse. There till six.

    • They really dropped a bollock on their lineup this year. They went with Richard Ashcroft because he did well as Oasis support - But realistically, you're not getting 50k people in a field to hear the 4 or 5 songs they know at like £70+ a ticket. Can't get my head around the Kasabian booking, either. Finsbury Park was a bold move for them, and yes it sold out, but I think you're more likely to see people make the journey to London if they want to see them rather than Glasgow. A second similar capacity show was always going to be a big ask for them.
