Bit of a long shot here, but could he be the TBA sub?

Touring in the summer so he'll obviously be around, tends to sub festivals he plays, and I suppose he'd fit in between Mumfords and Bastille.

Plus a lot of da kidz are into The Smiths these days.

and he didnt look out of place in between libertines and white stripes?

No he didn't, many fans of those bands would love him, I cant say the same of Bastille/Mumfers. R&L had a very different crowd in 2004,after the major changes were made to the line up in 2013 and R&L's demographic majorly changed acts liked Morrissey stopped having a realistic future at the festival anymore

Seems mental that The Cure headlined this festival only three years ago, it's an totally different beast now.

There isn't a day goes by where I don't wish I'd have been old enough to go to literally any of the pre 2013 festivals. It makes me want to cry what it is becoming and it is all the fault or the degenerate generation I was born into.

I don't think the festival has changed all that dramatically, apart from the fact that the past few years there's been more of an emphasis on Dance and Hip-Hop acts. Even so, it was only a few years ago that the likes of Dizzee Rascal, The Prodigy and Cypress Hill were playing high slots. And it's still primarily a rock festival. It's hardly gone the way of V and ended up looking like a playlist for an episode of TOWIE.

I'm sure if Morrissey was announced he'd get a decent crowd, because like I mentioned, all the Indie teenagers seem to love The Smiths these days.

Also, as mentioned, The Libertines played before Morrissey in 2004. They're headlining this year.

The festival and it's demographic haven't changed. For me personally I've just gotten too old for all the flavour of the month acts and acts youngsters like. 14 years ago I would have probably loved this line up as I'd be listening to those acts and wanting to see the nostalgia acts I missed first time round, not realising they were shit first time round and are worse now.
