The Charlatans

I am going to watch them in Leeds in March mainly for old times sake. I used to absolutely love them. The Charlatans LP and Telling Stories were 2 of my fave albums. I did not think much of the 1st 2 singles taken from the forth coming album but I quite admire them for continually trying to evolve, even if some of it is not to my tastes.

They always put a good show on live and would go down a treat on a sunny afternoon.

I think tellin stories and the eponymous one still stand up today, along with a lot of some friendly, but their later stuff not so much.

The eponymous album always gets a play in the summer. Don't know why but that has always been a summet album, where as I listen to stuff like St Ettienne in the winter.

I understand what people say about some of the older stuff not ageing well, but there are too many memories attached to some of them songs for me not to like them. Plus Weirdo sounds good no matter what. I am going to watch them in Leeds so that if they do pop up at a festival this year then I could miss them with a clear heart if they clash.

Yeh I would go and see them dont get me wrong because as you say there are a lot of good memories attached to those songs, but I wonder what people who have never heard them before think of them.

Yeah I'd check them out. Like you guys, I loved them back in the day bad always enjoyed them when I saw them live. When I saw they were touring again, didn't get tickets on the hope they'd show up at Glastonbury. We thinking Other if they are? I'd prefer JP! But as-long as they played My Beautiful Friend I'd be chuffed

I don't think they've aged at all. The eponymous album and Us & Us Only still hit the spot for me. I'm also a big fan of Up at the Lake, a very underrated album.

I've not seen them for a long time mind, caught a couple of songs at V when I was there for the Roses a few years ago.
