If The Strokes are playing Primavera, they're headlining.

I thought they would be, but just wasn't sure because it just said "playing" on their social networks.

I also thought they wouldn't go through all the effort of putting them on a billboard if they weren't headlining, and they did a similar thing last year with Arcade Fire if I'm not mistaken?

Either way I cannot wait to see The Strokes, been waiting ages to see them!

Yeah that's a fair point. Would very much bank on them headlining though with the banner thing you mentioned and they're quite sizeable for a PS act and they have six headline slots nowadays. Hope they get announced for Porto because that's my best shot at making it to one of these.

I think Foo Fighters will be announced soon. They are touring in Europe at the end of may and still don't have spanish dates.

Not really the vibe for Foo Fighters. They're meant to be returning in autumn or winter I believe, so if they're neglecting mainland Europe a bit then they should make up for it.

Can see a reunited Ride, Faith No More and JAMC joining as headliners alongside a couple of bigger ones and The Unicorns, Sleater-Kinney, Interpol, Swans and DFA1979 being in prominent slots.

Oh, ok. Bye bye Dave!
Anyway if Faith No More come I'm the happiest guy alive. I saw them at Sziget 09 for the reunion tour and that gig is still in my top 5 concert of my whole life. Mike Pattons is a fuc*in genius!

Are Ride headlining? I hope they won't but they were announced just like an headliner..

DiS: Wow! Primavera?

Mark Gardener: Yeah, we're headlining the second stage. And Field Day too. We've been talking to the people from Primavera for about three months now and they made us some great offers without them even knowing we were considering reforming.

Do the first and second stage headliners ever conflict? This will be my first time out there, very excited! And, according to that same DiS interview:

The last time all four of us properly jammed together was for a project called 'Coming Up For Air' which was a tribute to Sonic Youth that went out on Channel 4 in the early 2000s. And now we're doing Primavera next year and they're thinking about it as well so it's kind of come round full circle. Thurston always seems to be around whenever Ride get back together!

So Thurston Moore band a possibility as well? They were great when I saw them earlier this year.

i would assume they are 'headlining' just as Slowdive were 'headlining' last year....

Oh, and the 1st & 2nd stages face each other. When one act finishes on one stage, the next act starts on the other stage.

  • 2 weeks later...
  • 1 month later...

Looking forward to the announcement for this now. Should be this month, right?

Pretty sure the only announced acts are Ride for both and The Strokes and Patti Smith for Barcelona and Porto respectively, but looking at the last.fm page some self confirmations have been unearthed. Sunn O))), Sun Kil Moon and Gui Boratto for Barcelona, Mac Demarco for Porto and The New Pornographers at unspecified ones. Loads of acts touring around the time like the Sound City headliners, the Field Day lineup and RTJ, Foxygen, Swans, American Football and Interpol in the area at the time too. Shaping up nicely.

Speculation on other forums that the announcement should be in a couple of weeks, seemingly all the line up is now in place, I'm getting excited now!

Sleaford Mods appeared on their promoters page as playing but promptly disappeared, so fingers crossed they're actually booked to play.

Love this festival so much, has relegated End of the Road to second place in terms of consistent line ups in my opinion.

    • I honestly didn't know it had, I still thought it was where the view overlooked the lake and view.   I think my decision not to attend this year at least was justified. Biffy was the big draw but after Finsbury I knew they wouldn't play what I want to hear again and well work also got in the way. Believed interesting to hear if Libertines were any good as they were also a pull but Sunday did nothing for me really with all my acts on Friday and Saturday.

    • Knocked Loose have been announced for Wacken, that's them at Bloodstock as well   I think they'd headline over Malev
    • I hate tradmill running with a passion lol. Yeah the 1km reps are the one along with hill reps. That's what I did last time.  It's very a very hot summer and job circumstances to stay at the consistent level I was for the marathon earlier in the year. I've got a full set of the main distance new PBs this year. 10k isn't a problem most days but even today I went out deciding just over 5 mile was enough between recovery cruise and steady.
    • There is also a solid argument from Seventeen already that not enough people actually care if they book them also.
