I was asked to write a quick review of my time at Glastonbury this year having not been for 20 plus years so here goes

Well firstly I enjoyed myself greatly ,still found it has a wonderful vibe and certainly remains unique in many aspects ,there is no other Festival like it still to this day .I went with the mindset of a newbie to be honest and I think that really helped .i drunk more alcohol in a week than I have in the past five years put together ,kind of forgot just how pissed everyone gets in Pilton ! Very funny !

The anarchy and or dark edge to the Festival I think has all but gone but I don't think that's such a bad thing ,time moves on ,it's safer now I suppose .I certainly don't think it's sold out at all ,just different and evolved into something else .

I spent the vast majority of my time in the old part of the festival ie greenfields etc and didn't visit the main stages or that part of site at all (maybe I should of I don't know ) but it seemed to busy down there for me .

Music wise I was such a lunch out ,tried to plan a couple of things but that went to pot (literally ) cos I couldn't get out my truck for hours due to far to many hot knives but I did see Aphex twin and appeared very late at a couple of Raves going on somewhere south east I think .

Met some very lovely people along the way mind you ! Didn't once feel old .Took some great acid Saturday night and took a walk right around the edge of the Festival ,it's amazing who you meet out on the fringes doing the same thing .

Ok enough rambling , to the point yes it's changed ,it had to ,it's bigger than it used to be by a long shot but that's alright ,been to festivals that have not quite had enough to keep you going and that's disappointing .

My only real gripe with the place is the crap left everywhere, just stick your shit where it's supposed to go simple !

Will I go again ? Yes I probably would ,not next year though but another time .I most enjoyable experience ,still a beautiful magical place and this year I didn't see any Gnomes for once .Cheers .

Great stuff - sounds like you got right back into the swing of it! Always nice to hear positive comparisons and not just folk missing the traveller chaos, there's so much more to it than that.

Though gotta ask - why not next year but another time?

Good comments. Having never experienced the festival back in the day (my first was 2007), I think I'll always wonder what I missed, so I like hearing thoughts from people who can compare what it was like then to what it's like now.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Will you be bimbling around the edges of the festival or one's mind? Probably both when I think about it. :)

I've seen it. I didn't go over though.

Yeah, I know where you are coming from. I've seen it too, and never want to go back there again.

Weird heroes and mould breaking champions exist as living proof to those who need it that the tyranny of 'the rat race' is not yet final.
