Tipi tents

On the website it says that there is room for up to 6 adults in a tipi. It doesn't seem to indicate specific allowances for children, so you might have to pay the adult price for a single child.

It also says this which I think is important to note;

If you require general information about the Tipi Village (that isn’t related to your transaction), please find the information in this page. If you cannot find the information you require here, please contact the Festival Office, who will be able to assist you with general information.

As no further information on this area is available on the page then it might be best to seek clarification from the festival Office;

It's whatever it is (£950?) for a tipi. You can have it on your own, or with up to 6 people. I don't think there's a lot of strictness about who uses them. We had one this year for the first time and loved it.

As for 'for a family', in some ways it's great, but it's not a quiet area.

Hi Yog. How's things?

Hello Woffy.

It's a pity there isn't a dementia scale like there is the Bristol Stool Scale for shits. If there were I'd probably be able to indicate to you more accurately where I'm at in the greater scheme of things. I currently feel a bit funny and jittery, although it's subsided compared to what it was a short while ago. I'm just about to have my first alcoholic drink of the day so suspect things are going to get better on that front.

Apart from that everything's fine this end. I have to drive to the coast sometime tomorrow to pick something up that I bought off ebay. We were meant to go camping tomorrow but I just couldn't resist making this purchase so the camping got postponed. Talking of camping I have the Shambala festival to look forward to in August. It'll be nice to get out into the countryside for a festival again.

How's life treating you?

Thanks mate, do you think you could squeeze 8 people in?

I think you need special wristbands to get into the tipi area (there are always stewards on the gate), so you wouldn't be able to get 8 wristbands with one tipi

Can you not walk through the Tipi area any more as a normal punter,seems a shame as you could walk through it when it was next to Lost vagueness,its a bit elitist if you cant and annoying for people staying there who cant have friends visit or even stay with them afteral they have paid and its inside the fence but I suppose there are some people there with the attitude ''We have paid so we don't want any old riff raff wondering through''?

A step too far if that's the case.

Different tipi area mate. There's the Tipi Field (the original but moved, walk thru, cafes, fire circle etc), the Tipi Village (posh kids, fenced off wristband only) and The Tipi Park (artists/VIP behind Park very secure)

The Tipi Field is still lovely, guess the rest helps the festival make money

Ok then I must make a visit next year,keep on meaning to go but before you know it its Sunday night already,I vowed to see some cabaret this year but as usual didn't,I wish I could split myself in two.

Shame some parts are closed off but that's how the festival is nowadays,everythings getting a bit too organised for my liking, rules is rules!

Comfortable Tone? Thinking of it this year. Do they go onsale after TDay?

April?! Thats a pain in the tits. If I don't get a campervan and wait for the tipi and don't get one I'll be standing there with my lad in my hand come June.

Do they sell out quick?

Not a pleasant picture really ........

They go onsale in April when you pay off the balance on your deposit.

Looks to be a presale again - check http://glastonbury.seetickets.com/Tour/Glastonbury-2015 to see if your registration is valid!

Were there problems with Tipis again this year?

    • Lower league football has this more regularly, no? Quite often I'll see League 1/2 sides have signed a whole new 11 every summer.    Admittedly, changing the entire squad is different.
    • Oh yeah I'd forgotten about their mad scramble to get back from LA to Glastonbury. Though at least there you can blame multiple flight cancellations. I do agree though that it's fair to ask why you'd risk a similar sh*t show.
    • So who's got a good rain dance in the locker, then? Now we're in August the weather watchers can come out of hiding.    Already having flashbacks to last year (the dust cloud of doom at the crossroads by the Courtyard entrance).   Also got to be looking sketchy for the fire/fireworks on the Sunday. Might be a controversial opinion but wouldn't mind it - the fencing annoyance isn't worth the 10 mins of 'oooohhh, aaahhhh', plus the raining of hot embers last year!
