Do you actually like the lineup?

I must have missed all mentions of this.

Must have.

Yeah tourette, I'm not sure that's an actual thing - the only time I've seen that said is when Will was like 'Jack White plays Werchter, why not R&L'.

:P

Yeah I've never seen anyone say that I don't think (to tourette).

Of course they have, it was a running argument last year in the TITP section, and either last year or the year before when thetime kept going on abut Werchter, and usually any time the cost of festival tickets used to come up. The strength of Werchter's line-up compared to R&L/T and the comparative prices of tickets has been a common topic of conversation.

I think it's because it's pretty much the most suited festival the majority's taste on this board, and now the majority of the posters on this thread are teenagers just around turning 18, they're looking to go abroad for a festival, and so look at Werchter due to (as I say) the lineup being suited, and the fact it's cheap to get to.

I'd go Werchter next year but all my mates want to go to Benicassim :(

It's the new Coachella, in that people jerk off over the quality of the bands and moan about how much better the line-up is/cheaper the tickets are than UK festivals without considering the other limitations of the festival and also the different circumstances under which the festival is booked/organised.

"If Coachella/Werchter can do it I don't see why R&L can't" has long been one of the dumbest arguments on here.

Circumstances like repeat bookings, only having 2 (now 3) stages, having less competition within the same country, government subsidy (the free public transport with a ticket thing isn't paid for by the fest), different late-night noise laws....

Am I the only one who actually is pleased with the line up? The main acts I'm really looking forward to:

  • The Kooks
  • Blink 182 - probably the only one here
  • Blood Red Shoes
  • The Front Bottoms
  • Jimmy Eat World
  • Catfish and the Bottlemen
  • Peace
  • Temples
  • QOTSA
  • Cage the Elephant
  • Bombay Bicycle Club
  • Arctic Monkeys

Personally I found this year's smaller bands to be very strong. And there are a lot of different bands on everyday that I would like to see. And when calculating the cost of watching around 33 bands throughout the weekend, it obviously is much better than having to go to their gigs.

A few of the people that want to go took me to see Toddla T today at Tramlines and it was absolutely shit so I don't think they're going to change their minds at all

if your music tastes are that vastly different either try and find another festival that caters to both sides, don't go, or suck it up :ninja:

If I'd bought a ticket I don't think I'd be disappointed, as usual the later bands on the main/NME are pretty poor but there's enough going on during the day and late on the smaller stages to make it worthwhile.

It is not vastly different (with most of them) and there are a few in Europe I'd be willing to go and I'm not sucking it up to go to Beni

Stop complaining about literally everything your friends do then. My friends want to do some shit like Tomorrowland, and you know what, I'd probably go with them because they're my mates and I'm bound to have fun whatever shite music's playing

I need to stop complaining about everything (I'm a bit like that) but I wouldn't spend all that money to be miserable the entire time as it be pointless to me. Anyway I think a few others are planning to do Leeds or Glastonbury next year either way so I'll probably go with them :P

And Toddla T was just one time :ninja:
