Morning people.

Mrs Jeffie has a migraine this morning so school run etc was a bit fraught. Only just got into work.

Hopefully she'll be better later otherwise I'll be leaving early to pick up and then working this evening at home, which is never fun.

Hope everyone else's day is good.

Way to go Jeffie!

Today, I shall be mainly losing golf balls on a twice yearly round of golf. Then out to see Dan Mangan with MrsCJ tonight.

Laters :-)

Reading through the hangovers thread makes a quite interesting approach to dealing with a hangover. Lots of pharmaceuticals / food / more booze seems to be the remedy however I just tend to get on with it.

Never heard nor seen this 5HTP (is that right?) stuff..may give it a go once payday comes around

The main thing I can say about hangovers - or rather drinking to excess - is that the older you get the longer recovery takes regardless of what you do before, during or after.

Lack of sleep combined with alcohol is what does for me. If I stop drinking before 10pm I am fine with even a couple of hours sleep even if I was very drunk.

If I drink til the wee small hours and still sleep til noon I feel like sh1t

I think it's also down to you're own mindset on the night too. Sounds very airy fairy I know but I've had times where I've drunk 6 cans / pints with no hangover the next day. And also night where I've drunk double that and maybe more with no hangover. And alternatively, other nights where I've had 6 and felt like boiled crap the next day! Weird...

Spot on.

Recently I have been on the booze and imbibed lots and lots and felt fine the next morning.

I have also had the hangover from hell after just 6 pints.

Another note RE: Hangovers...I rarely eat when drunk. It's a very common thing to pile into the chip shop after being in the pub / nightclub. Maybe that has something to do with it too?

Afternoon. I have the Boomtown Rats song I don't like Mondays going around my head.

Frosty morning and very bbbbrrrr then got pulled over by the police and given a rather hefty fine for no tax or NCT (MOT in the UK).

I really really can't wait to get to Worthy Farm and shrug of the mundanity of life!

Oh no!! That's not fair on a Monday!

It's nippy here too but the sun has started shining :)

Re H-5TP, I have heard of it and know people who use it. I shall be getting some!

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
