what a difference a year makes

I have to make a comment on how improved I felt my Silver Hayes experience was this year, despite them losing the best chicken venue on site with them relocating to Williams Green.

It all felt a bit tighter, less open during the quieter period, but easy enough to traverse even in mud during the busy periods.

The security were much improved on last year, and I felt it was much more relaxed.

Gully, and Blues are great additions - Gully looked even better at night last night than last year - more lights?

I still think Sonic would look amazing with video mapping, and felt the sound issues had been greatly improved - if you can't hear well move, having the cubes configured that making a natural outdoor area that you could hear the acts well. At night their glow also created a better space. It was certainly less dark than the first year. The slight tweaking with support venues worked well too.

I wasn't sure about the boat last year, but after someone had to explain the 'boat party' idea to me, I've never done a festival abroad, it kind of made more sense, especially in a sea of mud.

Only other thing did Lizzo play in Pussy Parlure last night? Queued in the zig zags to hear a DJ Set, was she late? A no show?

Above & Beyond (as the pretty raver next to me kept telling me) smashed it last night.

...and Cosy Campers topped up our supplies nicely on Thursday, when we realised we'd come ill equiped, even selling me a replacement eCig EVOD clearomiser for a hugely reasonable £3.

I have to say based on my experience in the Dance Fields in 2011 and the comments posted on Silver Hayes in 2013 from what little time I spent there I thought to myself 'this is a late night area that doesn't feel tacked together' I thought the venues looked fantastic and the crowd was fairly pleasant.
