I stumbled upon Blondie's new 40th anniversary album yesterday where they've re-recorded all the original hits. Fair play, they are sounding fantastic. I was thinking they might be past it but I obviously know nothing.

They've now moved from maybe to defo.

Anybody can still sound good processed to heck in the studio. Youtube them at the NME awards and you may reverse your decision.

Although I'd prob see them later in the day when the crowd is a bit more lubricated to join in but as it is I'm leaning towards The War on Drugs.

Saw them at Secret Garden Party a couple of years ago as they were on before Leftfield and I wanted a good spot.

I do like Blondie on record but unfortunately live they were average at best.

Their Other Stage will be packed to the rafters. Quite rare to get a band with such a strong back ctalogue on so early in the day.

I mean, it's a caculated move by the band (and maybe the fest) to get them firmly in the spotlight, but I wish more bands would do it. Reduces the clashes later on in the day.

The band sounded good on the session on the radio the other week, Debbie Harry less so. But with a big crowd, it should be a fine ol' sing-a-long.
