The Specials & The Selecter (maybe)

The Specials are my favourite band, seen them a few times and loved it.

They were verging on boring without Nev, but without Roddy too? Time to call it a day.

I'd love to see The Selecter, though.

I wasn't expecting much of them last time they played on the Pyramid, but really enjoyed their set. Depends on your expectations I suppose. I thought they were good.

During the glasto set Terry Hall spent more time powdering his nose off set than being on it (if you know what I mean)

Seeing him come back on to the stage with a suspiscious powdery substance around his naval cavity (no ideal what it was) made me chuckle!

Still enjoyed the spectacle that the show was!

Would watch them this year!

I saw The Specials at the Brighton Centre, I was right down the front and I got a bit sick of being so tightly packed in. I found my way out and enjoyed a dance with some delightfully pissed people for the rest of the gig. I think it is probably much better in that kind of environment than in a large, open space gig.

£43.20 + fees to see the Specials at the Barras!

I caught the last Barras gig. They were definitely missing something without Neville. And now Roddy's gone to? Time to call it day. They must have made enough dosh from the reunion dosh by now.

They're now TBC cos I got some excellent info that they're playing on the Avalon Stage (tho I don't know which day).

The Specials were one of the acts of the weekend in 2009, class performance, but they subbed and I can't see them playing a much different slot, all the realistic slots for them seem to be taken up.

Would love a repeat - either at Glastonbury or elsewhere - one of the best things I've ever seen and in the 2010 sunshine, just perfect.

It ended with this Sun Ra song, adapted by Jerry D, and with the whole Spatial A.K.A. Orchestra weaving around the West Holts field:
