Tried Tipis one year 2007 and it was wet wet wet. we camped in 2009 and had gorgeous weather until it was time to go when it didnt stop chucking it down. Next two years we went in a small motorhome but we only used it once a year and it needed work doing to it so we sold it thinking we'd probably not do Glasto again. But the lure of ticket day drew me in and I thought if Im lucky then I'll find a way book it and you shall go - I was lucky in getting 2 tickets again. Considered off site camping but the prices are obscene and go against all I believe for in Glastonbury. So then came Worthy View and it seemed to fit very well with us. I had a ruptured brain aneurysm last year and its taken me nearly a year to get back to feeling well again so needed to have comfort less stress and still be near all the action. When we went this year I found it a real struggle with only being 6months post crainiotomy and stroke and I managed the hill of death up to the motorhome, slowly but I got there!! Hoping that by next June I will be back to full fitness. I like the idea of Worthy View - no pretensions just basic comfort which is want is needed. Can start to feel excited again!!! I really thought after having a bleed on the brain a stroke and brain surgery would prevent me from doing Glastonbury but it's gonna have to take a lot more than that. I love the fact that no one is excluded Glasto's disabled facilities are awesome no one is judged everyone can rock out to their favourite bands Where else can you get this??!!!

FFS so unless you're camping as per everyone else that makes you think you're elitist and better than the rest. My what narrow views you have worthy view is a lot different to the Luxury off site camping where you can pay up to £8000

No one is excluded not even the small minded like you !!!

By doing this we can leave a space in the disabled campsite for someone who needs it more than me. We've done the camping bit before and yes we are lucky(?!) that due to my critical illness we can opt for worthy view.

The only barriers are those that you put up.

People who cant afford the grotesque prices are excluded.

That is what makes worthy view divisive and bad for the festival atmosphere.

It garners a "us and them" atmosphere. As witnessed in the past at the tipi field, where people outside the tipi field shouted abuse at those inside it.

It is a shame that the festival organisers consider the income from those who consider themselves too posh to camp more important than maintaining the wonderfully levelling "we're all in it together" atmosphere the festival used to have.

Rich or poor, when you walked through those festival gates everyone was equal for a weekend.

Not anymore.

the way i see it each to there own! if that set up suits you than do it! there is no guidelines on how you should do your glastonbury is there!

and blaming people who are not camping down in the thick for depleting said atmosphere? clutching at straws a bit don't you think?

times change, nothing can stay the same forever.

live and let live i would say is more of a glastonbury attitude, not the festival spirit suffers because people choose to sleep somewhere else?

they are paying to not have to lug their tent and all the camping kit for a week usually well over a mile through all sorts of terrain? how is that different to campervan? you pay extra for a camper pass?

some of the people who i think embody the festival most dont stay in the 'normal' camping zones.

Where do you stand on michael driving back up to his house? id he lessening the festival spirit by not camping up pennards in your view?

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
