I'd love to see him play as I reckon he'd put on a great show, missing his set was one of the most disapointing things about not going to Bestival this year.

I quite enjoyed this interview with him that was published this week

I find it odd that people are ripping into him as a person, he might be a bit of a diva but he seems to come across as a very generous guy and does.a good job of championing new bands that he likes.

Oh I'm sure he is lovely. Did you see him on that Brit Awards show? He came across as perfectly charming. I bet he would be a good dinner party guests!

There's are much worse bands that could end up headlining so if he does do it I will probably stick around.

The Bestival setlist ticks most of the boxes:

The Bitch Is Back

Bennie and the Jets

Grey Seal

Levon

Tiny Dancer

Philadelphia Freedom

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

Rocket Man (I Think It's Going to Be a Long, Long Time)

Hey Ahab

I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues

Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding

Candle in the Wind

Sad Songs (Say So Much)

Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me

I'm Still Standing

Crocodile Rock

Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting

Encore:

Home Again

Your Song

Isn't Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting one of the dumbest songs ever?

I used to enjoy his shows. When I first came to London he seemed to be on all the time. Just the trio of him, Dee Murray and Nigle Olsson. Great songs... Tumbleweed Connection was a new album, his second album was still fairly new (Border Song is great). Saw him support The Who at the Roundhouse once... now that was a show and a half!

More than enough songs to satisfy the Glasto crowd I'd have thought.

Seen him live once 15ish years ago. Tickets came up and I thought 'why not?'. Best random gig I have ever been too - or at least a close second to Prince. I have a broad range of (questionable?) tastes I might add. The set list above was pretty much what he played that night and it was a cracker. Headliner material without a doubt imho - too big for novelty legend (although I would not put Cohen down as a novelty and he played on a Sunday afternoon).

I would like this very much!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
