Yup, it's an experience never to be forgotten, especially the first time you arrive. My first year was 2010, i'd only seen bits on the telly before. Walked from gate A to park home to camp and was pretty stunned how much was going on, but then we went to the Pyramid field to watch the football. I'll never forget the first sight of that field jam packed with 80 odd thousand people, especially when we scored!

I feel sorry for my wife - I feel like I know you all a bit - she has no idea!!!

I tend to be the more outgoing one of us.......... but then she does have her moments in the moshpit..... just ask here about when AC/DC comes on!!

Will be arriving on site a solo and terrified little glasto virgin. I feel like I will emerge from it with sparse, but happy memories!

I never realised it was people's first time at Glastonbury. Wow in some ways I wish I was you, you will be amazed when you see the site.

I absolutely love this thread I feel I have made lifelong friends with fabulous people.

Lucy that was a lovely thing to say to HMV (that you would meet her). You have a heart of gold.

I liked the guy on another thread whose phone autocorrected 'square jar' to 'squarepants' for him! :)

Mrs Woffy once got autocorrected from 'child's possessions' to 'child's pies design'! :)

Just watching Jools Holland, btw.

So far IMHO:

Kasabian - Ee-zeh. Sounded a bit weedy in the studio. Live, with as massive crowd would be better.

St Vincent - Digital Witness. Liked it. A lot.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
