Hey everyone, after failing dismally on ticket day in October, I've not been able to face frequenting this forum, so my apologies for neglecting my NFR NFC duties. Now however i know I'll be at glasto, so i think it's time i rejoin the cause. I'll do my best to make up for my absence between now and June. For what it's worth, it's a beautiful bright warm day in Somerset.

Well that was an amazing day yesterday, some excellent bands and Dreadzone just ripped it up as head liners. They are playing Friday at Glastonbury on the Glade stage.

Weather was good so was able to sit outside in the sun between bands, it really feels like summer is almost here.

Bright and sunny today in the Toon after... actually I don't even really know what the weather was like at the weekend as my grandma died on Friday night so been holed up doing family stuff and avoiding the world. Back to reality today though, and this forum is helping to raise my spirits again. NFR NFC

Thanks Lucy. Anyhoo life goes on and spring is definitely in the air now, all the daffodils I can see from my office window are in bloom, and the cows are back on the town moor. I was at Centre Parcs in Cumbria the weekend before last and saw bunnies, red squirrels, pheasants, lots of birds (including an owl) and a duck having what looked like a very satisfying bath in a heated outdoor swimming pool. Seriously, I didn't know it was possible for a duck to look so smug!

It was so nice yesterday that I managed to get a nice little burn on my arms and nose when out on a shopping trip.

The shopping trip included some sacrifices in the shape of new wellies and rain jacket!

Totall agree they should be ashamed of themselves mentioning that evil r word.

Can't even bring myself to post or read that thread.

Been a lovely warm sunny day in Glasgow,

We have a pre-Glastonbury BBQ this Sunday for the 50 of us that are travelling down on the minibuses in June....... Hopefully the weather will be the same as today's... but we are willing to take whatever the gods want to send us.

    • I was following up to pink_triangle's post about what Reform are saying they will do to find money for defence spending.   But with Labour, they may well water down or delay some of the net zero commitments, they may find ways to cut welfare spending with Pat McFadden's welfare review thing, but I don't think it's going to be near enough. They really tied themselves down with the tax commitments in their manifesto, just reversing Hunt's NI cuts would have gone a long way. Under Burnham I think they may try and reform some of the tax system, land taxes and levies etc. Certainly needs reforming. But that might all be after a general election if Labour were to win.  I reckon they will try and do something with fiscal rules to borrow more, and try and persuade markets to go along with them.  (and he's already rowed back on that waspi thing...I think his team and others in Labour had a word).
    • Feels like Leeds getting axed is just a matter of time now, and to be honest, it might be the only way to save Reading. The whole twin-site format just feels proper dated and way too expensive to run nowadays. If they scrapped Leeds and focused entirely on Reading, turning it into a proper London-adjacent day-trip fest for the younger crowd like All Points East or Wireless, it would actually make sense financially. But yeah, for the old-school rock crowd, the R&L era is completely dead and buried.
    • Its the obvious  place to find savings but will Ed Miliband play along? Will Labour MP's finally accept benefits cuts? This is as damaging for Reeves as for Starmer. Its hard to see how either survives. Meanwhile Burnham is bringing up WASPI when there is no chance they'll get anything. He'll have to say something about funding defence.
    • Yeah, I managed 2 at once last year but the setup meant 1 per purchase, my partner had to do her one separately using her code   14th Primavera, bring it on!
    • I’m heading to this but need to leave on the Sat. Does anyone have any experience of getting back to the train station without the shuttle bus running? Seems like it might be tricky
