Coldplay do what they want, they don't need festivals like V. They won't accept.

They'll have their album out next year which makes it less likely, then the 2 years after they'll have a world tour.

They did T on the last album tour. And releasing an album would make them more likely to play. It's the fact they haven't yet started work on a new album (as far as we know), and therefore won't have a new album out for the festival, that makes them unlikely.

They won't do V, they'll have their own plans and Glasto and T are bigger, more respected festivals, one is also in another country. I'll chop my bollocks off if they play V.

You'll also find they are well into their new album, they've been in the studio constantly since they finished touring. That I know for a fact. Don't know what would make you say that?

Doubt they would do Glasto again so soon. God Forbid that everyone would complain that Glasto are repeating headliners like V do :P

Likewise with T, both in 2011, if they were to play next year it will probably be V Fest, because I don't think R&L would bother attempting to outbid either.

If we're to believe Glasto have Depeche Mode, Elbow and Fleetwood Mac.

That IOW want who was rumoured a while back.

And that T will almost definitely want Biffy.. and then maybe Arctics if R&L go for English exclusive, if not, KOL?

So yeah basically if Coldplay anywhere, it will probably be V, if all that is still accurate in 9 months time ;)

Do you think paul weller will be there next year?

Also do any acts do two years in a row... Would be good for basement jaxx or rudimental to come back next year... And beyonce!

Also for anyone who has seen weller.. Does he do some jam stuff or just his own?

Foos would play Download & Glasto before they got to V, Chili Peppers definitely more likely for R&L, as would Libs if they reformed. Everyone reckons R&L have all but secured Arctics for next year, but they're still a V possible if they outbid Festival Republic, Coldplay and Kasabian are the most likely for V next year imo

    • Monaco comes across to me as something that's great for just watching people driving around, especially this year as it feels like this is a track where they can actually push compared to other circuits where superclipping ruins it, but where the cars seem to have outgrown it.   Though tbf Formula E has had decent Monaco races recently so maybe its a sign of car development philosophy being a factor.
    • Feel like a lot of people do just sit around by the stage at a festival waiting for one act anyway, no? I know Swift has a big mega-fandom - she wouldn't have done so many Wembley shows last year if she didn't - but it's not like she'd be unique in playing a festival and drawing a crowd on that specific day just for her.   But then tbf I feel like there'd be a few happy just to mosy around the rest of the site until maybe 2/3 acts beforehand.
    • Pretty good imo. Though I'm aware my position of being a big fan means I'm biased.   Reminds me a little of Justice, which shouldn't be that much of a surprise given I've heard Justice played a lot in Muse's pre-show playlists over the years.
