Worthy View Roll Call

Thought it might be interesting to see who on here is staying in Worthy View this year.

We took the plunge as the worst bit of any festival for us is the lug to and from the car, this completely eliminates it and makes the whole thing a bit more relaxing. The added security and the possibility of a shower was also a big draw. The fact we are up that end pf the site means we will probably spend our late night time up the park, i have never really done that before, sounds appealing and i am not really into the "naughty corner" anyway. We both work hard and thought the small extra price to pay isn't that much really.

The whole food stalls, bars and campfire gives the impression that they want to try and create a little community in there, be interesting to see how that goes.

I don't want this thread to turn into a place where everyone just criticises people for wanting to pay a little more for something different. It isn't against the ethos of Glastonbury or anything like that. It's personal choice really I'd say.

Me and MrsHew are up there this year. A bit of departure for me after 14 years camping on site but it's a little treat for us cos we got married last month.

25 year old me would have been horrified at the thought. 35 year old me is looking forward to sleeping well.

We're Worthy Viewers as well, same reasons as you. At least the hardest slog that we'll have to do will be at the end of the day when we can collapse into bed! I'm just a little worried that the tents might be a bit small (I'd normally say you want a 3 person tent for two people). Looking forward to the view from the top though.

Posh sod reporting for duty!

We thought we'd give the WV a go this year as we have been going for twenty years and the walk with all your gear has become too much.We normally arrive on the thursday too so we end up in one of the further carparks, plus with every one arriving wednesday morning now and the fact that Williams has gone over to staff camping the walk from east carparks to the far west of the site would of been a killer

I am looking forward to the showers too! :)

If sleeping in a tent in the middle of a field makes me a posh sod then the class boundaries have definitely moved a long way in recent times.

It does only work out at £20 each per night, akin to a pretty terrible hostel in reality......or 4pints of brothers, rather puts it in perspective.

Me and my lady opted for it this year. We normally tent in Campervan East with a group of friends, but hated the walk out. (especially sobering up during 45 mins walk out after leaving at 3am, and thinking why have i left!!)

So we went for Worthy View:

To be close to the park etc.. ( we have friends running a food stall there )

Walk out via the Park or stone circle.. last chance to have fun ;-)

Should be a "worthy view" in the morning and when we get back to the tent at night

i think it's gonna be mostly glastonbury regulars who have found a bit of extra cash to avoid the crush

Yep I'm for WV. The walk with all that gear would prob give me a nervous breakdown. Also, coming from Ireland means don't have to try get a tent on the plane, which I would need to buy anyway, so it seemed a solid option.

We're at WV this year. Our festival tent died last in 2011 so we upgraded to a monster which is only suitable for camping next to the car. There's no way we could have dragged it through the site. So the choice was buy a new small tent or take it easy this time after a year off. Also, as there's four of us travelling in a very small car, space is at a premium. No tents means more booze :good: Looking forward to getting there Tuesday evening and getting in without any stress or panic Wednesday morning to get a good spot.
