Boxes Of Wine

Hello!

Think I'll be taking a few boxes of wine this year to see me through, but can anyone recommend or know of a place that is the cheapest place to buy them?

I'm not too fused what type/colour of wine it is to be honest, but ideally I'd like them to be at least 10%. I've had a quick look in Sainsburys & Tesco, but they're around £15, which is fine, but I thought I'd ask if there's somewhere that do great deals on them.

Thank you!!

I don't think you'll find 3litres of wine >10% for much less than £15, not in this country anyway.

Remember that you have to pay duty and on a 3litre box of win that's £8 then there's VAT @ 20% on top. so in a £15 box the actual value of the wine would be £3.36 after tax

White wine is horrible warm.

I would suggest taking red if you have no means of coolage.

This annoys me, as I love white and have never really found a red wine I like (though I could drink port all night and frequently do at Christmas).

I compromise with 3 ltr boxes of scrumpy.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

I think a few decanted bottles of Port, mixed with some on-site chilled bottles of Lemonade/Sprite might be a winner.

I love Red Wine, but I will inevitably go through at least three quarters of a box a day, and that's some serious hangover to contend with.

Never white... every year you can find some group of girls trying to finish their box of white that noone's dared touch since Thursday

I usually take a box of light red, as long as you remember to rehydrate with cider it's brilliant, many fewer loo sprints

I'll be taking mainly red wine and a few spirits, I'll warn you that cheap red wine will paint your entire mouth red for the weekend. BUT WHO GIVES A SHIT?

I always take red wine as it is the best choice when you can't keep your drink cold. Sainsburys sometimes do some cheap wine boxes so worth looking there. In my area Lidl and Aldi are the best value for bottled wine and Aldi does a pretty reasonable boxed red. Another option is the 1litre tetrapacs of wine that Asda and Tesco sell, it isn't the best quality wine available but they are handy for carrying about without having to decant it into anything else first.

    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
