Jesus Christ. This thread has evoked the Mark Corrigan part of my psyche. I'm seriously contemplating tossing my ticket into a volcano and renting a barge in Shropshire for the week last week of June.

Pop culture is a fucking cesspit of memes and bollocks. Bring on the nuclear holocaust.

I think megabowl above summed it up:

"Attention seeking forced wackiness bollocks for the Facebook generation? Let me know where and when so I can studiously avoid being anywhere near. Ta."

The funny thing about flashmobs is that the "inventor" of them only did so to mock the very people who now take part in them: hipsters and whoppers.

Attention seeking is coming on a forum and clicking a link that you clearly have know interest in just so you and your mates can all post messages agreeing with each other.

If you don't like it, don't join in. We're only having fun and causing no harm to anyone, unlike some of the harmful posts on this thread.

I was going to write something far longer, but instead ill simply say (as someone very much opposed to organised wackiness).....

I would never have guessed the same old suspects would spew all over this topic. Its fair to say that most of the interesting people have long gone or rarely post any more. What we are left with is a couple of amateur trolls and half a dozen slap-each-other-on-the-back gob shites.

Very tedious these days. Can't wait until the map comes out to distract them for a few days.

Why is it a no go area for you? Worried about bumping into some lads having a bit of banter?

Imagine if it was full of people like you? The place would be filled with grumpy faces with a droning noise in the background made from the noise of a thousand moaning voices complaining about people are not having the right type of 'fun' and how it was better back in your day...

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
