It's got to said that that looks great! But has been said before when i posted a Metcheck forecast that it would be more accurate to check my pubes than Metcheck for long tern forecasts :)

looks miserable at the moment (4mm of rain in a day is enough to turn the place into a swamp), but i can promise you whatever it says now will be wrong (60+ days left?).

I wouldnt even bother looking until 28 days, and wouldnt trust it for any kinda guide until 10 days.

i won't put my trust into any form of weather forecast until the day before i leave for Glasto, and even then i'll be packing for all occasions as i've made the mistake not to in the past and it wasn't pleasant

Argh, this shit every year.

Let me reveal to you a universal truth about weather forcasts. You won't get a good one for Glasto until Monday/Tuesday at the EARLIEST - and even then you've only half a chance of it sticking rather than going off-course, the sunny days moving or dissapearing altogether, surprise deluges replacing them.

Until then you may as well pull the available weather options out of a hat.

Of the Glastos I have done these are my recollections of the weather :-

2011 - It Rained

2010 - HOT NO RAIN = PERFECTION

2009 - It Rained

2008 - It Rained

2007 - It Rained A LOT !!!!

2005 - It Rained A LOT !!!!

2004 - It Rained

2003 - It Rained a bit but otherwise DEAL !

2002 - It Rained a bit but otherwise DEAL !

2000 - It Rained a bit but otherwise DEAL !

1999 - WARM & Dry - DEAL !

1998 - It Rained A LOT !!!!

1997 - It Rained A LOT !!!!

So out of the 13 I have been to, only ONE YEAR had no rain at all on any of the 5 days and that was 2010.

I'm not sure about 1999 - I don't remember rain but we may have had a few spots ???

It rained in 2008 and 2009 yes but in 2009 it was a lot to start off with but trailed off by Friday evening and in 2008 I think it was Thursday only. By Saturday it was pretty dry and sunny for the rest of it

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
