We had a big trailer tent, used for many festivals, and the main attraction was the awning that you attached along with all the built in cooking gear. Clearly that wouldn't be possible with this but still pretty neat.

As a cyclist, that is so fucking cool. The right bike and some panniers and you could literally fuck off round the world with that set-up.

Not convinced. On my motorbike, I avoid using my side-panniers whenever possible as they make the bike too wide to fit between lines of stationary traffic. With that thing attached to the back of your bicycle, you might as well be in a car. There are loads of lightweight tents out there that you can just fling in a rucksack or panniers and don't make you any wider. They all offer much more space than that thing does too, and with a bit of practice, putting up a tent is no effort. It's a clever bit of design, but I wouldn't actually want it attached to my bike.
