I actually followed the link a few days ago, out of curiosity, and the advice is far less scaremongering than it used to be or I was expecting. That said, for the couple of recreation pharmaceuticals I looked at the site was conspicuous in its failure to point out how much fun they are so not exactly balanced.

A lot of people have been misinformed about the dangers associated with "illegal drug use" and so you can hardly blame them for wanting to perpetuate the lie. Others seem to hate drug use out, what seems to me, a life-denying Puritanism and I think I despise these more. The Puritans are there on both sides on the political divide - though my personal experience has always been with left-wing prigs who seem to think that having a good time is somehow betraying the cause. I suppose they could be right.

I'm sorry Neil, as much as I like coming on this website, my Mac/Safari & I are starting to get f**king pissed off with this advert.

Every time I click close, it opens up the Frank website & continues playing the same sodding advert in the back ground. Might be a problem my end but its bloody annoying.

I'd love everyone to have this website free of adverts.

But until such time as people are prepared to pay to have it free of adverts - because it can't be funded otherwise - then the adverts will have to remain.

If you'd like the forums free of adverts (and the rest of efestivals by the end of the year too*) you can do so via the 'subscriptions' link at the top of the page.

(* a redesign I'm currently working on will have added featured, including one which will allow those people who subscribe to get the forums free of ads to also get the rest of the website free of ads for no extra charge)

The Talk to Frank ad's been replaced by Aptamil toddler milk, and Nivea hydration primer, at least for me. I know I act like a kid when I'm at a festival, and my skin might dry out if I spend 20 hours a day in a windy field drinking cider, but there's no need for these ads, is there?

I think the ads rotate, I've had a few different ones today.

I don't mind ads but I always think they should be more targeted. Companies like Millets and gooutdoors for example should be falling over themselves to advertise on here.

Edit: Amusingly I just spotted the ad for efestivals own camping shop, forget my previous idea ;)

Here's a better idea, a nice little widget that scans the content of a thread and based on keywords shows a targeted ad for a product from the store. When people are discussing what tent to buy and an ad for a tent appears in their face you'd hope for a bit of traffic as a result.
