What is it about music that makes it so that people are ridiculously rude about music which just isn't to there taste? Your opinion isn't fact ya know, just because you don't like it doesn't make it ****, there are loads of popular bands and artists that I don't like but I would never call them **** just because I don't like them.

It's not just the music though. Like a member of Fleet Foxes (a band who actually do the whole indie-folk genre very well) once said about 70-75% of music is context. And in context Bumford are absolute shite.

Out of context on the music alone, they are still shite.

this argument has been used through the ages, but it's just fact that some music is shit. people will moan and moan and say 'oh that's just your opinion' and 'loads of people do like them so they can't be shit' but some things in life, including music, are just downright shit. Mumfords aren't the worst thing in the world, but right now, as far as popular rock music goes, they're pretty fucking shit. people liking them has nothing to do with it. i'm sure there are people out there who enjoy actual faeces, so that means nothing

Right there's something i'm thinking that's bugging me, for the past many years glastonbury have shared headliners/subheadliners with t in the park. And it's not just been a couple of times, it's been pretty much a yearly occurance!

2011 - Coldplay, Beyonce played both.

2010 - Muse, Faithless & Florence were some of the big acts to play both.

2009 - Blur headlined both.

2008 - The Verve and kings of leon headlined both. (Well kings of leon subbed T, but never mind)

2007 - Arctic Monkeys headlined both, so did the killers.

2006 - The Who headlined T (sloppy seconds from glasto as it had a year off?)

2005 - there were no similarities, which is odd. Apart from lower acts. (Keane)

Years further back from this they have little to no headliner sharing, was this something that happened in 2005? they made a deal to share acts or something conspiracy thickens!

But yeah the whole point of this is that I really think, despite what this thread originally said, that Mumford and sons will play this years glastonbury (maybe not headline, but this is why I think them).

Rihanna physically can not play, she's touring europe, the only day she is free is the friday and I can't see her getting a plane from germany to glasto, then getting one back to switzerland in less than 24 hours (whilst playing a show remember). I think this is enough to rule her out.

The Killers are a difficult one, they could play, but playing IOW and T is an exclusivity right? plus glasto wouldn't want to book a band playing two major festivals would they? Not exactly a inventive booking. However stranger things have happened.

Therefore because subheadliners for T haven't been announced yet, all that leaves is the mumfarts, who have been rumoured to play this year since last year. I would honestly be surprised if they didn't play. I reckon a sub slot on the pyramid would do them fine. I'd watch them, and i'm sure it would be a good state. I don't think R+L have the money to book them as exclusive right now, as they must of spent alot of money on eminem, and that's evident in the fact that Biffy Clyro is the second headliner.

Love or them or hate them, i'm pretty sure theres a chance they will play, however I could be wrong. As i've said before (strange things have happened).

Note, T is yet to announce it's subheadliners? maybe glasto could snap one or two of them up?

All will be revealed.

Jesus feckin' christ! Wittily changing the name of a band you don't like by replacing one syllable with a word you use as a swear word when you're about two?! Seriously?!

This is a forum primarily used by adults right?

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
