It took them 8 years to book them again, and they're hardly a 'festival band', they make rare appearances in this country. Part of what made 2010 so great, was the likeliness that they may not be back for a while.

How do you know they hadn't tried to book them before that? In fact I think I can remember people on here talking about the BBQ that they do/used to do where the question was regularly asked.

If they are offering Weezer a big slot like a sub, I can't see them not taking it. Plus they are the perfect festival band as shown by the reception try got the last time.

They are currently doing shows in Australia and are going over to Japan in march so they clearly are willing to travel this year.

Maybe 'festival band' was the wrong term, I meant they're more of a rare occurence on the market, so I would say they're more unlikely to play given the recently played, but are regularly included in people's line ups. Would have thought Download would be the keenest to get them if they're over here.

Makes perfect sense, and technically that's two sentences, one is a minor sentence but it's all rather trivial to this exchange. I could rephrase it as "why do you think Weezer won't return? Perhaps you presume this because their previous experience of the festival was a bad one?" if that's less upsetting to you. But the jokes now passed and we should all probably move on with our lives.
