Headliners

What's the chances of Hot Chip playing? Seen them at T in 2010 and they were shit hot.

Also I noticed that the Rockness twitter page has just recently started following Jack Beats, so I reckon they'll be heading up north this year. Staying with the Scottish dance acts, I'd be very happy to see dunfermline lad Mizuki (just signed to Flux Pavilion's label Circus Records) would be a good one to see early on in the day.

Reckon we'll get Foals playing quite high up with the new album coming out in April. Could see them in a Friendly Fires type slot from last year, or even headlining the tent one night.

Hot Chip would be a tremendous bit of business. I've not heard much about them live, they any good?

Two Door Cinema Club are playing T so that's pretty much a no-go.

Summerburst Festival in Sweden is on the same weekend and they have Axwell, David Guetta, Otto Knows, Steve Aoki, and Hardwell so any of those could potentially play.

Rock Am Ring is also on the same weekend which The Prodigy are headlining so we could potentially see people like Boys Noize (live), Bloody Beetroots, or someone like Ellie Goulding or The Wombats play.

Aye they two seem pretty much T bound. Looking at the T lineup from last year I reckon Rockness will possibly go for people like Chase & Status, Nero, Skream, Jack Beats, The Horrors, Amy MacDonald, Miike Snow, Flux Pavilion, as they tend to pick up a few acts from each other every year.

2ManyDJs and Arty could be potential acts too after playing the Arches last month.

I'd also quite like to see a Pendulum DJ set, been to one a few years back and it was really good.

(sorry if I keep saying random artists but it's fun to speculate haha)

Would happily have everyone from Summerburst except Guetta, would not like to see him at Rockness. Dance music, more specifically 'progressive house' is getting huge at the moment so acts like Axwell, Otto Knows & Hardwell would attract a lot of people to Rockness. Think Axwell & Hardwell would be very expensive these days though. 2manydjs haven't played at Rockness since 2010 and although they play literally every 6 months, I think they are a good tent headliner for those who havent seen them.

Arty was supposed to play Chambre 69 in Glasgow in November but it got cancelled cause he missed his flight so it's been reschueduled for March. Would love to see him, but dunno where he would fit in at Rockness. Think Jack Beats have a good chance of playing. Pretty sure Boys Noize will play with his live show aswell, either that or T have snapped him up. Can definitely see Disclosure playing Rockness, choking to see them. Think Magnetic Man have an album coming out this year, maybe see them return aswell, definitely need to have them inside a tent this time though if they play. Either that or Skream & Benga will be on the line up somewhere, T had them both in 2012 so it's Rockness's turn.

Forget any crossover with Download, the date change has messed that up. QOTSA will not be at Rockness, nor Enter Shakira. I don't mind though beacause I will be at DL................and at the Ironworks for ES for that matter. :)

Been going to rockness for all the years its been going, and its always been an amazing time! However every year the line up seems to fade away from what I'd quite like to see. As stated many times before its a business like alot of festivals and they have to adapt and change to whats going to sell tickets.

Fuck knows,I'm wasted anyway! Every year the line up becomes less and less appealing to me,maybe its time to change festivals and start going to rewind or something.

Getting one act like money would be enough for me to buy a ticket.seen many many dj's over the years and moby played probably one of the best ive ever seen at the liquid rooms in Edinburgh.

Let's see what the line up is like over the next couple of weeks.just hope its not all chase and status,Nero, skream,ES etc etc.not saying there shit, but just not for me,which is a shame because I don't want to stop going to rockness.

    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
    • f**king horrendous and seems they couldn’t run an egg and spoon race.  zero info and the crush waiting to get in to see Massive Attack was potentially disasterous. Zero info, no stewards at all and was told that the whole evening was cancelled, when we got to the exit. Because it rained. First time attendee and i’ve got onsay, i’m far from impressed. Scalping bastard taxis asking €37 plus for an €11 fare too. Wonderdul.
    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
