I was looking forward to MBV at Bestival in 08 but ended up walking off halfway through. This may partly have been because there was something akin to a monsoon occurring at the time and there were more people on stage than in the audience though.

Anyone know when the Porto one is announced? Am guessing a lot of the bands are likely to play both (NIck Cave and the Bad Seeds seem to be down for Porto).

porto will be most of the same bands, but not all of them. there will also be a few bands that aren't playing barcelona and only porto. i went last year and it was a great little festival, really well organised and all that considering it was the first year they had done it. highly recommended. i'm hopefully heading to barcelona this year though, amazing line up

The festival starts on 22th May (Wednesday) But that day only will play Vaccines, Guards, Aliment, The Bots and Delorean. During the whole week will be gigs all around the city, but the 'true festival days' are Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

What an awesome line-up don't you think? Can't wait!

PS: Sorry if I made some mistakes, I'm Spanish so taking it into account I think is pretty good hahah

Given that the dates for this include Sun 26th? Does anything happen on the Sunday night? Our travel times may mean we miss much of that night, but the lineups on here only include the Wed-Sat nights..?

Does the event take place on the sunday night or is it mostly done by then?

Can anyone advise me if it's worth staying for the Sunday night at Barcelona? I attended in 2011 and enjoyed the last night at the Poble Espanyol, though I heard the location changed last year. Did anyone attend? If so, what was it like?

Really nice line up for Porto. The saturday looks particularly strong. Tempting to do both festivals in order to avoid the worst clashes. Since they don't include the sunday in the official dates for the festival, it has surely been dropped. It wasn't too nice anyway, queing in the pouring rain to get tickets for Casa da Musica last year.

It seems that codetickets only offer tickets for Barcelona and joint tickets for both events. I tried the orange triangle - "buy tickets here". That option offer e-tickets for Porto.

There were no concerts on the Wednesday last year. There are only four stages in Porto and comparing the line up with last year I would say that there will be no more additions.

The advantage of the Porto event is that the festival area is really nice with lawns and three of the scenes placed at the end of slopes wich makes for better view when crowded.

Well, tickets bought and accommodation booked. We now just need to figure out how we're going to actually get to Porto! I'd forgotten that not many airports offer direct flights to Porto!

Actually, I'm not really worried if there's nothing going on on the Wednesday, as it will give us a chance to have a look around Porto itself. I also like the idea of there being lawns, rather than the concrete of much of the Barcelona site. It all sounds quite relaxed! Can't wait - roll on May!
