Funnily enough, when Cale was on Desert Island Discs he nominated Alexandra Leaving, suggesting that Hallelujah isn't even his favourite Cohen song.

Or maybe like a lot of other people he's just sick of it .

And Alexandra Leaving is maybe Cohen's best song of 'recent' years'

Went to MSG to see Cohen in December and same thing happened - Sharon Robertson sang Alexandra Leaving alone. Got one of the biggest ovations of the night.

Always been somethign he's liked - having women sing his songs. Judy Collins, Jennifer Warnes, Sharon Robertson. I know what you mean about paying to see LC, but if he feels that is the best arrangment for that song, so be it.

I'm not holding out much hope tbh. I think he went off festivals a bit after a dodgy experience in the US a couple of years ago (really bad sound leak etc).

Plus, finding a slot is hard. Doubt they would want to repeat legend slot just 5 years later. Beyond that, selling out the O2 on numerous occasions, MSG etc, he is really big enough for headline - but we know there's no chance of that happening. So put him underneath Mumford? The Stones?

I have tickets to see him in London the week before, I live in the most southerly point of Cornwall so if he played Glastonbury that would be really convenient for me!! Although I would probably just see him twice.

His set in '08 was the closest thing I've ever witnessed to a religious moment. Just completely mesmerising.
