It was awful. Truly awful.

I mean I did see some good acts, miike snow and frank turner were brilliant. But the overall atmosphere of the festival was horrid. I didn't feel safe and to be honest I'm quite a big lad and can hold my own when I have to, but I don't feel like I should have to defend myself at a festival.

Rules? They were a joke too. No glass? It was everywhere!

The organisation was a pit fall. The jezabels replaced Feeder, which I was totally gutted about, the festival were told in advance but rather than making a last minute booking, they moved the jezabels to a different stage at the same time as their slot meaning anyone that did actually want to see them went to the wrong stage.

Weather management didn't exist. I know the weather isn't the festivals fault but they could have done something about the ever growing lake in the arena and sunset strip. I did notice that the area in between the barrier and the stage had been covered with wood chipping so that security had something to stand on.

I don't know why they say under 16 year olds aren't allowed in without a responceable adult, there was huge groups of kids everywhere so pissed that they could not have been with their parents.

The campsite was not secure, any one with a day ticket could have easily got into the campsite because the security checking for wrist bands could literally not care less. Tents we're set on fire, not in the field I camped in but those neighbouring.

The most disappointing thing was how almost every single tent was left behind after the festival. My tent got broken by some moron and although I didn't bring it home I did take the time to take it down and but it in a bin even though I was being told to hurry up and leave because it was almost 12pm on the Monday. Perks of leaving last though meant I got a new iPod dock and a pretty new looking pair of vans.

Couldn't agree more with the OP on this one, very different atmosphere this year! Health and safety seemed non existent regarding the conditions, the odd tanker sucking up mud made no difference at all!

Music wise the bands I saw were all brilliant and performances from new order, the roses, elbow to name a few certainly helped the weekend from being a total nightmare( and good company too)

You're so lucky to have gone anywhere though. It's looking to be a completely festival-less summer for me because of Glasto (unless one of the many competitions I entered comes up lucky!)

Any festival experience mirrors the types of punters going there IMHO. I personally think they are becoming worse due to a generation of hedonistic narcissists now frequenting them. However, the organisation of T seems to be slacker than ever from accounts, perhaps because the festival concept has become more of a commercial commodity rather than a celebration or culture.

I try to do a festival every year, well I have for the past 3 anyway and I only got a ticket for T because of the lack of Glasto. I really really wish I'd opted for latitude. Why didn't you opt for another festival?

My 21st birthday is literally on the saturday of Glasto 2013, so I'm thinking of going all out to celebrate! So, instead of spending money on festivals this year I'm saving up to do myhab next year at Glasto (or something similar). Better be worth it!

To be honest, I was MASSIVELY tempted by this year's Latitude line-up. And the fact that they had tickets on sale until the very last minute... grrr.

Ah that does make sense, and i really am envious of your birthday. I have a friends birthday that weekend of june and theyve never been to glasto, such a shame. Latitude has got a really strong line up this year.

As for the competitions I think that's the best way of looking at it. At the age of about 14 I won a couple of V day tickets but I couldn't go so I gave them away, so people really do win those comps.

Yeah, I celebrated my 18th (sort of, it was about 3 days early) at Glasto, and it was a brilliant time. Honestly cannot think of a better way to celebrate.
