Hello I'm from Belgium and a friend told me that QOTSA and Bloc Party are confirmed; There was a leak on the website. So I think they'll make an announce tomorrow or saturday because of the leak and also cause they haven't announced new names since november (Sorry for my bad English but my mother tongue is French)

i couldnt translate but its probably the same thing..

out of interest, whats the main anguage spoken in belgium, would like to learn a bit before coming over...

French, Dutch and German are our official languages (http://sicmagazine.org/Roz/Languages%20in%20Belgium.jpg). Werchter is in the dutch part. Most Belgian people speak good or average English, so don't worry

that's about fifty/fifty between dutch and French but you could learn Dutch cause Werchter is in the Dutch region

Heard the ticket sales had a very good start, thanks to all those headliners. It's true the headliners aren't very original, except Depeche Mode and Blur of course, but it's still the only festival with six headliners (And, if the rumours are true, Prodigy, Killers and QOTSA will soon be added to the bill so that'll make 9 headline worthy bands (or 8, as Editors aren't headline worthy for me)). Most festivals only have 3 or 4 bands of that size.

Glastonbury has no names, R/L have Eminem, V-festival has no names, TITP have Killers....Download festival comes closest, they have four in Slipknot, Iron Maiden, Rammstein and QOTSA

The Prodigy headlined Download last year and I count QOTSA as a headlining act as they are headlining big festivals like Oen'er this year....and if you don't want to count Editors, then we can say 8 headlining worthy bands.....

There's just two acts there who would headline an equivalent UK fest as things stand today, and that's Green Day and Blur.

PS: KoL might end up headlining an equivalent fest in the UK this year, but that'll be luck for KoL more than the fest really wanting them as headliner. The sales of their tourdates show they've dropped from headliner level.

yep, they did. But now the arse has fallen out of their appeal.

They won't headline those fests again unless they have a significant up-turn in popularity from what they have now.

If the eight bands announced so far for RW were announced for a major UK fest as the biggest eight bands (I'm presuming that's what they are for RW?), it'd be laughed out of town.
