Sat at home, miserable, waiting for surgery. Basically the same as now, but miserable at missing out. Right now the thing that is keeping me happy is that this year would have been possibly amongst the worst ever for weather and liquid soil.

I'd be wandering about with a pint of Brothers and probably end up in Chai Wallahs at the Glade, gearing myself up for the trek to The Park and a night spent drinking at gazing at the site like a fool.

In 30 years years this must be the first Friday after the Solstice when I wasn't in Bali, elsewhere overseas, or at the Festival. I'm at a bit of a loose end to be honest. Very strange indeed.

I'd be getting up now after having had a good solid 4 hours sleep. Breakfast time = fresh beer and a fag. No doubt they'll be joints going around and I'll have some - just in case there was a chance that my brain would recover from it's addled state. Would immediately want to do mushrooms again but know that I should leave it until the evening. May pop a pill instead. Then it's just having a laugh with mates while we try to get moving to go and see some band or something. The actually getting moving from the camp site is a slow process but an enjoyable one as everyone's having a laugh at something or other. Realise that being at Glasto really is deeply satisfying to the point where it becomes unexplainable.

This time last year I was enjoying U2 in the pissing rain, .....I would have lost count of the beer and would probably have started telling people that they're lovely and responding to all the smeg head comments and Rimmer salutes I get cos of the Red Dwarf T-Shirt that only comes out once a year

I find it's not as bad when you get back from a festival if it's a year when there's a football tournament on. I like to just chill on the couch with a few cans watching the highlights of the games i've missed while I've been away. Obviously this doesn't work if you don't like football, you could always replace football with Eastenders I suppose.
