LondonTom
Hello There! I noticed a couple of stores had the 2012 range of vango tents arrive today! So thought we might need a tent porn thread, mainly as I need a new tent after my one broke down at last years glastonbury (Good Vango Alpha 300, you served me well at 3 festivals!) Now I found the alpha 300 a bit small for two people once we had all ourselves and as this year I am going to bestival with a girl whose not my girlfriend..I was thinking about the awesome Icarus 400 , but worried it might be big to lug around and a bit selfish of a big tent. (Given its the two of us, we wouldn't be taking up any space outside it really, i am not really one for sitting at the campsite.) or maybe the Odyssey 400 Mhmm nice!, So what is everyone else using for bestival? Feel free to discuss you needs and post lots of tents Edited April 3, 2012 by LondonTom
Joe-
Clicked on the link expecting boobs, I am disappoint. Either that, or Bestival announced a new stage, with porn.
Dave The Hedgehog
I'll hopefully be using my trusty old Gelert Twister 4. Served me well through Leeds 2010, Bestival 2011 and several camping trips to Cornwall, Shepton Mallet and Stonehenge. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dsp2aEdWNZ8http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dsp2aEdWNZ8 Phwooooaaar... After last year's weather though, I'm sure there are a few leaks and rips so I was considering investing in a Quechua 2" III.

rexclark
We bought the Gelert Rocky 4 for festivals last year and it's been fantastic, nice and roomy, a decent sized porch and it withstood some awful weather at Glasto. Here's a pic No wait, wrong one.
LondonTom
I like some of the smaller ones, but feel so claustrophobic in them once we each have a bag in there! Dunno how we managed to do T in the alpha as at Glasto we had a car so left half our staff in that :S Am i doing it wrong? Might have to go to a camping show and check I can carry the icarus actually, as I think i am going to bestival via public transport most likely. (Unless I win one of those 10 mini coopers McDonalds are offering!)
Joe-
I don't know what tent mine is, but it has survived 5 festivals, I think it'll work again.
Kyelo
TBH because I am flying to Bestival I am trying to stick to my 20kg limit so will be a 2 man, 2.5kgish non pop up so will most likely be this... ...however if I had the choice it would be my baby: Sunncamp Elan 200, 2 man with huge living area and enough room for me, 6ft2, to stand in easily. Unfortunately it is 25kg so no go haha

Kyelo
I don't think you'd have much of a tent left if you used that second one at a festival. Everybody would, at night, be tripping over the many guy ropes attached to it. They'd pull your tent out of the ground trying to disentangle themselves. Yoghurt on a Stick
Yes, I'm liking the porch area I must admit. Ideal for when it's pissing it down I'd say. We normally use a couple of tarpaulins lashed between tents to get something to shelter from the rain in. However it doesn't have the height that your porch has. Nice that you keep an open house for randoms.
Shaun Child
I bumped into some people who I spent most of the weekend with, they had a tent like this, although when it rained on last day wasn't so nice to take down and carry home They're so big inside though and looked lovely when it was up, blankets everywhere inside, looked well cosy I took a cheapy Tesco tent which did me fine, especially for only £15! worthyraver
I have one of those Bell Tents the 5 metre version, although I dont take it to Bestival it does come to all the other festivals I do with the family. Fantastic piece of kit cool on hot sunny days and warm in the cold looks awesome and I can put the thing up by myself in under 15 minutes, only downside is the fact that it is heavy. snowdragon
I might go to this festival this year but might use the Tangerine Fields for better bogs and not having to cart a tent about with me
