think bestival ruled them out. someone mentioned was in creamfields or global gathering for them before now, they are options.

think about, if benn has done what people don't expect and on the all have played in some capacity, that includes Sabbath, Jack White and Arctics. Jack has played with others bands.

ah okay man, well then that's them out then and Sabbath as it would stand firmly back in.

it's easily notable on another subject the amount of people who just like Biffy and so think headline without realising it isn't going to happen. I'm prepared for people to call me if it does, but i'll be shocked if it does.

a download header from this year got, a download sub from this year gone - after a big arena tour - unsold yet, and not the greatest selling R&L once again, well done lol

Depeche Mode won't be playing if Melvin has three headliners who have played before... Killers wont.. Green Day probably wont.. Arctic Monkeys and Black Sabbath both have the best chances but Biffy are as viable an option to be the third headliner as most bands if Mumford are out of the picture.

It's not just a simple case of liking Biffy... if it was just about the bands I wanted to see the most I would have Biffy sub so I could get one of my fave bigger bands play above them... it's a case of they are bound to headline the fest at some point... they wouldn't be even close to the strongest headliner Reading have had ever or the weakest either (not many bands can sell out an arena tour their size that easily and the demand is evidently there with the that poll)... it's a case of they have an album to promote and are a very viable option... the headliner pool for Reading is low... you yourself have decided Mumford arent gonna play (I still think they have a chance but leaning to no also)... Depeche Mode won't be playing if Melvin has three headliners who have played before... Killers wont.. Green Day probably wont.. Arctic Monkeys and Black Sabbath both have the best chances but Biffy are as viable an option to be the third headliner as most bands if Mumford are out of the picture.

i think you nailed it at the start, to see the most, you'd have biffy sub so you could see a bigger favourite band above them.

it's also the fact that having biffy headline instead of soad shows just how weak a headline both soad and biffy would be.

i agree the pool is small and getting smaller but they can still get someone bigger than biffy, hell if arctics could do it again, so could radiohead

How does this have anything to do with SOAD? How does Arctics being possible make Radiohead possible? Radiohead rarely play festivals... they arent going to go back to Reading 4 years after they last played... they are also probably not touring next year where as Arctics clearly are.
