Surely an event will still go ahead i.e. Queen with Adam Lambert and maybe a few other bands will play at Knebworth but just not as Sonisphere Festival? I cannot see that is cancelled altogether.

note that Kipper didn't know. Then try reconciling that fact with the claims made by someone else close to him on forums elsewhere (I'm not entirely sure if he's stated it directly himself, but others have certainly been told that by that someone, as is clear from posts).

If that doesn't expose a certain someone as the web's biggest festival bullshitter then the world is full of people who lap up bullshit like a kitty with milk.

Yeah I didn't know yesterday morning - although I had it confirmed to me after you guys got the ball rolling with rumours. Fair dooz on being the one to call it though, I genuinely didn't expect it to be cancelled up untill yesterday, and personally I'm beyond gutted. Naturally a lot of people on here didn't share my opinion but I was really looking forwards to the bands and the festival! A real shame

I'm pretty gutted about this because in spite of some very strange bookings I still wanted to see quite a few bands. That and I already bought my tickets... I'm praying FNM still come to the UK this year but I don't hold out much hope.

Ah fair enough!

As for what's happening with the bands hitman, I think they'll be in talks with some of them to still come over and possibly do some gigs as a way to make some money back, and FNM didn't seem to have anything else planned. I guess it depends if Soni France is still going ahead too though...If it is, and FNM are over in Europe for that I imagine they'll sort out their own headline show in London instead or possibly tour?

They are playing in Romania a week or 2 before Soni was due to play.
