Lock Up 2012

See If the crowd was slightly older, they could probably headline the NME, but I always thought they were quite a cult concern, and most of my friends who frequent reading have never heard of them. :(

But yeah I honestly dont know where they'd place

Yeah they're definitely a cult band, but a big one at that + the reunion factor, it would be a big deal and pull in far too big crowds for the Lock-Up. It could well be that if they play it's their first trip to the UK on their reunion tour, which would be a massive draw. I'd probably stick with them subbing NME under a rock headliner of sorts.

That could be a good shout. However wouldnt it be better for them (and more profitable) to headline a festival like Hevy and take a lower slot at reading? And there was that guy a few weeks back going on about them headlining second stage at Sonisphere if I remember right? Who knows..

It's always pretty busy. I think that having more dance would help sell tickets faster to the demographic that now go, even if the dance acts were more leftfield ie Justice, Digitalism, acts like that which aren't so appealing to Cream bookers but would pull a decent crowd at R+L. It wouldn't be difficult to for R+L to share acts with SW4 in London either. It shouldn't pull in too many more nob heads if the rest of the line up still sticks to indie/rock/punk. A line up like this imo would go down very well with the current 'kids' that go.

personally think Refused and At The Drive In are too big for this stage compared to previous headliners, they defo deserve high slots.

Hoping for the following:

Less Than Jake

Reel Big Fish

Lower Than Atlantis

Gallows

Your Demise

Parkway Drive

Dunno if some of those would play lock up if they were to play but think its a possibility.

ATDI are too big, they could easily pull off an NME headline/2nd headline, possibly even a 3rd/4th spot on Main Stage on the heavy day.

    • Seems the addition of the Sun Stage area is interesting. Suspect this is the area where the Stage 4 used to be pre-2024. Looks as though they want to try create some space to keep people in amongst the arena post-headliners, rather than just crowds all descending back on the campsite entertainment at once.
    • 2000 Trees - 3 Day Tickets on Concert for Carers to buy (pair £15) sure they will not have them for long, I cant check if they are still available as it now says I have already bought tickets.
    • times and technology has changed , a pyramid headliner is often about the show thats put on as much as the music like it or not and as much as many would like to you cant really blame an artist for trying to get the best out of the set both for the audience in the field and for the cameras also ....
