I have had to change my travel plans radically this week as we now have to travel down to Liverpool first. that means we have had to pack everything in anticipation of the weather - i have every kind of footwear from high heels to wellies. The high heels are not for the fields i should add.

We are about to head off south so will be passing by on the M6 in a couple of hours. I am getting very excited and have checked my tickets are safe at least 5 times this morning. Hopeto see you soon - maybe the first efests meet I will actually make, I am usually too shy.

does anyone have any insider info on where the phone charger tent will be ?

Last time i used it 2 years ago i was sat for 2 hours waiting before i worked out that there was no power in the plugs, there had been a power cut and i ended up with no phone from saturday morning.

didn't bother with it last year but this year i will need it to keep in touch with people and to organise meeting them.

Emergency welly shopping happening here - my last pair split at RABF a fortnight ago, I was holding out that KC was going to be high and dry like last year but it's sods law if I dont get a pair them we'll be in for a mudfest. So, for the sake of the fest and everyone attending, I am going to spend money I don't have on a preventative pair of wellybobs. You may thank me later.......

In other news.................. I'm very excited about KC, only 3 more sleeps! *bounce*.......Sailor Jerrys, nonsense dancing, spiced cider that you drink in a stumbling, hand scalding fall back to your tent at the end of the night...........can't wait :)

Saturday and Sunday will be a mare mate...

Must sees for me Saturday....Wind Up Birds, Our Fold, Edwyn Collins/Roddy Frame, Dodgy, Little Roy, Shed Seven, Catfish and the Bottlemen (hopefully Spring Offensive and Jake Evans). Probably finish with Dizzee and then a bit in the Chai Wallahs maybe

Sunday - Random Impulse, Hyde and Beast, We Are Scientists, Inspirals, James

Makes a huge difference have so many options...been a couple of years at the IOW where theres been 2 hour gaps between what I've wanted to see

Gonna try and check out random stuff inbetween the 'must-sees'...thats sometimes where the best bits of the weekend happen

Any idea what time you and Em are getting there?? We're thinking we should be in the car-park for about 11??

Anybody know of any local boozers within walking distance?? Thinking as the arena isn't open Thursday might fancy doing something a bit different

I'm getting the coach down on friday morning and I'm wondering if the walk to emperors fields will be a long one from the drop off point now they've swapped the site round a bit?

I don't know how people manage backpacking, my bag is back cracking at the moment and I'll still have to carry my tent and probably food too. I will never understand how to pack lightly.

Im going to try to leave before 7 so we will hopefully get there for around 10 depending on traffic and how much speeding gets done. Havent got a clue when the welsh folk are turning up and i've got all there tickets so think ill have to wait around for them.

Not sure how far into the emperors fields you can get without a ticket anyone know how it worked last year? I dont wana get set up and find ive got to walk miles away to main entrance to hand them over.

    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
