there was a nice piece about Steel Pulse on TV last night, on The One Show of all things. I'm guessing most people watching were saying 'who?' ... as was the case in their home town of Brum when Jasper Carrott went around playing their music at people. ;)

Anyway, they're now going to be added to Brum's very own walk of stars, alongside Ozzy and others.

A very nice tribute from Rita Marley on the film, of her saying they're 2nd in reggae only to Bob.

I'll be there too, am looking forwards to it, less so the rain.

As this is the reggae thread, i'll say ....

Damian Marley's new album 'stony hill' (out today) is a bit rubbish. Am listening to it now, not dreadful or anything but ... just a bit meh.

I saw Tippa Irie last weekend. I didn't expect much but he was superb.

I'll look out for you Neil. I'll be the one in a dark rain coat, so I should be easily recognisable ;)

Ooh, I'm wearing a dark raincoat too, my god it's tipping it down though:o

I recently read a biography of Peter Tosh, and apparently in the Bronx on 23rd August it's Peter Tosh Day.

So I thought on 23rd Aug I should have a Tosh video as the video of the day, but the dilemma is... what Tosh song?

Suggestions wanted, thanks. :)

Stepping Razor or his version of Get up Stand Up. I even quite like his cover of Johnny B Goode

I love Johnny B Goode and it would probably be top of my list if it wasn't a cover.

Thanks for the suggestions.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
