Perhaps its those who boo'd a victim of racist abuse today that need to move on, as well as those posting bullets to Anton Ferdinand. Both utterly abhorrent.

To me the most disgusting thing about the liverpool v man utd match was nothing to do with the players or fans. What appaled me was the time slot they chose for the match, liverpool and man utd probably have the most casual fans in the uk and they placed the game in the only tv slot which has a huge impact on lower league teams. The timing of the match probably cost wrexham £10,000 in terms of reduced m,atch income and I have no doubt it had a similar impact on matches not just in the north west but throughout britain. I know the premier league doesnt give a crap about the lower league but I would hope the FA which encompasses everyone would think about the wellbeing of all its members.

As for Tevez its a complete non story. Man city arent paying him at present anyway, so I cant see whats in it for them.

I don't want this thread, which is designed to talk about the actual sport itself, dominated for another 4 weeks by racism talk. It seems that others don't either, having mentioned it before me. If you really want to, create another thread, I'll argue my points in there as far as I can be arsed. Just don't try and be a self-righteous tit in a thread intended to talk about the sport itself.

As much as I think Mr Fish is a complete t!t, I don't think that pushing to remove any talk of difficulties in the game being removed from the thread is appropriate. We are all capable of rational discussion, and ignoring trolling if necessary. I personally think that a player getting a bullet in the post is just not on at all. Even though a discussion thread like this is small fish in the football world, I would hat to think that that kind of sick behaviour would be swept away to a "discussion backwater" in the name of discussion on the sport itself.

Really, your example of Wrexham seems a little strange. Their average attendance last season was 3,061. Last season in the home game against Bath on Jan 3rd was 2,602. Today's attendance against Bath was 3,583.

How exactly did the FA rob them of £10,000?

Are they also to blame for the fact that the ground holds double the average attendance for the rugby team than the football team?

I have nothing to do with Liverpool and I don't think it's something symptomatic of that club. I come into this thread to chat football. If you want to highlight every racist incident and discuss its effects, create another thread to do that in. Racism in football is a problem, but personally, I don't think it's any worse than racism generally in society, it's just exacerbated by having 10s of 1000s of people gathered together in (often) tense situations. Liverpool have been highlighted lately, but soon enough Chelsea will come under scrutiny (no comments about the QPR/Chelsea handshake being avoided have been made). I'm sure Man U will have some issue, I'm sure Arsenal will, Spurs will, City will. I'm sure that over the next 3 years every club in the premier league will have some minor racist incident associated with them (and before anyone has a go at me, this got heavily discussed at the height of the Suarez verdict, and there was a lot of points made about verbal racial abuse being of lesser significance than non-racial violence in the eyes of the law, I'm going by that).

Its been a very dull transfer window so far. Its funny most say theres no point the better teams investing in players in january but Im not sure thats true. When I look at teams like arsenal and liverpool who have a chance of getting in the champions league but are more likely not to get top 4, I would have thought its an easier to sell to a player the possibility than a definitive no in the summer. There is also a lot less competition from the bigger sides in january than june/july. I also have always thought players from abroad benefit from coming in at this time to get used to the culture, language etc ready for the next season.

According to the radio yesterday, ballack is available on a 6 month contract after falling out with leverkeusen. I know he is getting on but he has always been very fit and I personally thought he was a little underated during his time in the premiership. I personally think arsenal could benefit with someone of his experience, he could also do a job at liverpool but not sure you can fit 2 players with egos like him and gerrard into the same midfield. Would he drop to a lower team, im not sure.

cant believe how close it is to the end of the window already, got to be the quietest one so far. More to do with clubs wanting to much and the closer it gets to the window closure, the more they lower the price.

I expect alot of the teams around 8th and lower to do a bit of business though.

mama diouf has been sold by united today/yesterday though, bit to much of a leap for him I think. Old fergie made quite a few gambles recently on strikers which have not come of, with the likes of diouf, bebe, owen and I just hope hernandez gets his act together.

Arsenal game was entertaining. Saw every side of them today, the good, the bad and the beautiful. I thought Ramsey and Oxlade-Chamberlain were fantastic, and Rosicky had a good 2nd half before he went off. Ireland looked very good for Villa which was nice to see, extremely talented player who only really managed that one good season at City before getting shuffled along.
