Wristbands....

I know this sounds really stupid, but i cant face taking mine off yet. Its a symbol of me being on holiday and i fear that once i take it off i will come crashing back to reality!!! lol.

I had a superb glasto, havent been for about 11 years, it had changed in some ways(firstly the amount of "designer"festival goers - seeing two girls dragging a MASSIVE designer case on wheels through the mud in the car park, had me wondering if it would be the same place at all....thankfully it was.Comman sense next time girls, uts the countryside remember.. it will save your arms and mine!.

But i guess that is how times have changed things. I didnt experience any trouble, we arrived thursday morning, walked straight in through gate D.. and was directed to the Pylon field to camp, within 20mins had the tent up, and had loads of space ALL weekend, great spot and not one favoured by many it seems.

Anyway a lot of complaints i have been reading on here could apply to any festival you go too...in my mind its allowing the overwhelming experiences out weight the underwhelming ones. Yes there where a few things that did my head in, but i had such a good time that all the niggles fade away. If you cant do that, well maybe festivals arnt for you, because they will always be like that until all the fields are full of Travel lodges.

Peace people

"Let the overwhelming outweigh the underwhelming"

That's so so true, I arrived Wednesday, queued for hours in mud, struggled for ages and by Thursday evening your questioning your sanity.

By Sunday all the shit stuff pales into insignificance compared to the most amazing 3 days that are on offer. Blisters, bruises, muddy slogs, rainy queues...I do it all over again in a flash.

My only issue with the wristband this year it isnt particularly work friendly for keeping on for the rest of the year. Light blue, black, basically every colour that has come before is just about get awayable with but fluoro blue green yellow and pink brightness aint going to cut it in most offices/retail units :( I'm glad mine slips off.

For once I'm able to keep mine on! :D Well chuffed by that!

Previously, my job's uniform consisted of a short sleeve shirt so my wristband was obvious had to be snipped off :(

Luckily I've got a new job which is more lax about uniform and my co-workers are a cool lot. I wear long sleeve shirts now so I'm keeping mine on!!!!

They do make great keyrings. For now I slipped mine off although ghis proved a challenge and I shall slip back on whenever im out and feel a bit glasto-y. Always good conversation starters on holiday, other fests and out in town. Basically on the piss.

I just managed to slip mine off and now it's back in place :)I usually keep mine on for a week or 2 just to remind me every minute of the day where I have been...the best place on earth B)

I'm not sure how long to keep mine on for. I've still got last year's as well but I quite like it. Gives me something to smile about when I'm a bit down.

Some chav pointed at me in the gym today & said...

"Is that your gay band!?"

"No, I'm afraid. I've been out enjoying myself in a field in Somerset."

They had no idea idea what I was talking about, could have been a better come back too.

Mine came of today as it kept ending up in my coffee and also doesn't really fit with work. However, I then realised how much I have caught the sun and look like a right idiot with this big white patch on my wrist. Lots of jokes about it been mud and me not showering properly etc

I'm not to keen on the colours this year. 2009's band is my fave with the bumble bees and the fluffy clouds. Why don't they put pretty pictures on them every year?!?

But mine is now on my car keys, along with 2008 and 2009's. Which reminds me... I started a thread on here on the hunt for an unwanted 2010 band since I went last year but worked with Oxfam so didn't get an official band :( May track down the person who said they'd send it to me after this years festival!! :)

I wasn't keen on mine to begin with but actually with the Glasto tan I seem to have somehow picked up (even after a bath) it seems to go quite well. I have all from 2007 still on and luckily work dont seem to mind.

This is the first wristband that easily slips on and off my wrist, which means in the slightly more likely than it should be event that I was arrested for standing on the wrong bit of pavement or whatever I wouldn't have to have it cut off, hooray!

    • Was volunteering at the Women’s Cricket World Cup at Southampton yesterday. Was great fun.
    • Definitely see this as being 'weak' on paper but could see a few bumps up from previous sets at Download (Don Broco, Neck Deep etc).
    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
