Where do tent thieves come from?

I don't know what country or ethnicity the pieces of shit were from, that ruined our festival, but it doesn't matter. We will forever remember Glastonbury as perhaps the worst, most traumatic experiences of our lives, and that is how our family & friends back home will now think of it.

Michael Eavis probably doesn't care, as he got our money already, but we intend to let him know about our experience.

Perhaps we did not really fit in, so our absence in the future won't be a big deal, but Glastonbury festival will be a place we will Never return to, and will only bear deep scars when we think about it.

We plan to stay in the states from now on for festivals, which is quite a shame, as we're huge music fans and festival lovers, and we would rather be saying good things about Glastonbury, but that obviously will never happen now.

'most traumatic experience of our lives' . . . . . well, that's good news, you've clearly got off very lightly on the ol' horrible formative life events side of things so far in your life. I'm sure it wasn't a barrel of laughs, but nobody died or was maimed.

You got some things pinched and had a pretty crap weekend as a result. The measure of what kind of person you are tends to be how you deal with adversity, if that's as bad as things have ever got then I'd hate to know how you'd cope with an actual proper big problem!

Some fella, you may or may not know, died in a toilet on the sat afternoon and wasn't found til the next morning. Think how his wife felt all that time. Or when she found out. Or in fact how she feels now, for that matter.

There may well be an issue with people getting in illegally via market traders or any other scam with wristbands.

There may also be an issue with people robbing from tents.

There is no reason why these two are linked.

That said.... I did walk back to the car one day and a guy outside offered me 150 pounds to let him borrow my wristband to get in so that he could 'do a bit of this and a bit of that'. He told us how he'd tricked his way down to Glastonbury for free on the train from Liverpool and didn't like to pay for stuff and that he does it at loads of festivals all summer.

I said no thanks and left him to it.

The biggest collection of 'criminals' is probably security and we've seen evidence that they do get people in...

So it wouldn't be improbable for them to be sneaking in a lot of the thieves.

But as has been said before, nicking stuff from tents (and eventually selling it) will quickly raise £200 for a ticket. Robbing tents seems like it would be much easier than getting in without a ticket. So the rational criminal would buy a ticket, then spend the day robbing tents.

A good reason to sneak in without a ticket would be if you really wanted to be there (see bands etc.) but had failed to get a ticket.
