I was chatting with a Northerner at Pulp. Found it amusing when Cocker was talking about drugs and the bloke next to me shouted "I'VE GOT COKE". There was a ripple of laughter and then he proceeded to get out a small bag, roll up a twenty note and sniff. I thought he was joking hahah

We were there, from Sheffield.

And Leon Walker performing in the Leftfield tent was from Rotherham.

And we stood next to Yorkshire folks during the Kaisers.

Me and my two mates from Newcastle.

Met a bloke from Boro, 5 lads from Sunderland (), 2 lasses camped next to us also from Newcastle.

Got talking to an older couple from Carlisle.

Not to mention the ubiquitous scousers.

(Is Yorkshire really in the North? )

With briliant kids. They can't have been over 7 years old, knew the words to all the songs, and spent the whole of Morrisey screaming "Ger off, yer crap".

One of my favourite moments was on the first night, random snippet of conversation passing my tent: "yeah, scouse is the dominant race here", it sort of shows that it is all about where YOU go and who you meet.

There were plenty of liverpool accents around, I was camped in Dairy, by the big Rochdale flag. The people behind us were from the midlands, next to us we had a small group of girls with a broad range of accents including irish and canadian by the sound of it (only met them briefly first night) and on the other side 2 tents of londoners who I wasn't that keen on. We had no trouble with anyone (my kids had a bit of grief in a crush, but that is just part of being in a crush), everyone got on and there seemed to be a good geographical mix as ever. It WAS very middle class and south east england on the pyramid field, to be fair, but I only went there twice and only experienced the parts of the field I was in.

We went from Sheffield and were in a tipi next to a group with a Yorkshire flag. The most common accents I heard were scouse and austrailian... suprising amount of Aussies there this year

I met loads and had a brilliant time on Thursday with a bunch of scousers at our campfire. In fact I want to thank them for being so bloody nice and understanding. They sorted me out on a number of issues with regards to my disabilities that I will never forget. So if you read this Paddy, Louise and Vicki thanks so much for all you did. X
