OK now I know this may result in a slating but here we go!

I've been following these boards for the last few months in anticipation of what should of been my greatest festival experience after going to Reading and Isle of Wight over the last 8 years. Back home now and overall not impressed with what I have just experienced, from the ridiculous amount of chairs in front of stages to the "first time away from mummy and daddy" crowd to the loutish idiots (the kind doing laughing gas then urinating on my other halfs leg in the U2 crowd!!!).

I was looking forward to fairly d*ckhead free 5 days with a bit of community spirit but I don't feel I saw it once. Maybe I'm just being negative and a pessimist but when I left the site today I thought to myself I don't think I'll ever go back.

Please tell me I just had a bad experience or this year was a bad year!

Slating time then! I went to the Pyramid for Beyonce(for the Mrs) and for U2, most time spent at Other, John Peel or Dance Village. I tried to watch Paul Simon but it was an absolute joke trying to fight through the cool boxes, picnic baskets, rugs and chairs. At Beyonce found a space to stand in and a group of 5 with chairs set up either side of us and made their own little camp, had to move. I feel like I'm 26 going on 80!!!!!!!!

There certainly was an epidemic of chairs, as you say.

I can appreciate that some people need a chair because they have problems standing up (medical conditions, not alcohol reasons) however I don't think that was the case with the majority of chair users.

Just got back (f**king top week)

had a flick through the emails, found one from t in the park (went there last year) and thought thank god I went Glasto instead of here. If you like being treated like a 14 year old child, by all means go here, but this was the e-mail:

Flares

On a more serious note, we need to warn you that flares (the bright, burning, health and safety disaster, not the denim variety) will not be tolerated in any way this year. They are completely banned from the site, and if you are caught in possession of one, the police will get involved and it will be treated as seriously as being found in possession of fireworks. You have been warned.

A friendly reminder of the other banned items:

CHILLLLLL OUT! it is nice to see children 5-16 are allowed in the campsite and the arena though, nice buggers

I'm sure I'll sit back in a day or so about how awesome it was but the chair situation has been niggling at me for the last 3 days on top of missing out on QOTSA due to compromise has sent me over the edge in to a beyonce/chair hate rage. Hope all had the time of their lives and I'm sure I'll be there 2013 whilst in the mean time lingering here :)

first time for me too, but overall enjoyed it. The main pain in the arse for me was the bloody unsupervised kids roaming around, spending all of their time texting/phoning each other and generally just trying to push in under the guise of "we're cute kids see, so f**k that fact that you've been here for hours, we're coming in".

Also, I only heard 2 accents over the course of the whole week - scousers and upper class white teenage girls. Where is the diversity!

I was quite looking forward to sitting at the back during Paul Simon, but it was too crowded, way too crowded. Last time I went the back half of the field didn't fill up during the day, but now there are too many people.

Sorry your partner got p!ssed on, but it was U2, at least the event distracted you long enough to prevent you going comatose with boredom.

Hugely depends where you go I gues..was my first time and initially I was a bit deflated. Looked like same as other major festivals only bigger. Thankfully spent most of our time in and around greenfields, heard some brilliant music in Leftfield tent, found strummerville and spent such a chilled 'lost night' with people that make you feel good about the world again.

Went to the stages when there was something that really wanted to see but so glad we didnt 'wait to be entertained'.

Loved it

    • Morocco are a good side, know what it takes in tournaments. Semi final last world cup, AFCON winners (kind off). No one should under estimate Morocco, I think they will win the group and get to the quarters minimum.
    • Came to the same decision after age 40. I'm lucky enough now to be able to manage on only 4 days work, in a job that does not expect me to do more than my contracted hours.
    • Looking like it will be beautiful weather at the end of June. Long hot summer predicted by various places including our favourite netweather nerds. Let's hope we get a repeat this time next year. 🌞
    • Just finished Spider Noir which was far better than I expected it was going to be. Nic Cage clearly having a ball chewing up the scenery and the most Irish Brendon Gleeson you have ever seen. Watch in authentic black and white only for the best experience.
    • After realising that I couldn't remember how season 4 ended I decided to rewatch the whole lot. I stopped after 4 episodes of S4 to watch Gen V season 1 as there is quite a bit of crossover then finished S4 before Gen V Season 2. Finished off with S5 of The Boys and I was a little disappointed. I still enjoyed it and they did well to wrap everything up but the inexplicable lack of budget for the final season really stood out for me.
