The view that's taken on these things is that everyone's voice has the same right to be heard - so while you would like this to now fade away, someone else might like to discuss it further. Topics live or die by the interest there is in continuing the discussion.

And while you say "It's such a shame one user has bought about so much trouble for " - which is something I agree with from one angle - it's actually more accurate to say "a thief" is the real cause of the trouble. And because thieving is an issue at all festivals, there's a positive side to this thread in that it's creating awareness of the problem that will hopefully get to mean that some people will take extra care in future and won't be a victim as a result.

It's only just over a week since we all returned from Glastonbury, so for the moment at least I'm going to let this topic run. I will however keep it under review and might consider closing it in the (near) future.

It isn't efestival's job to protect the reputation of the festival by locking any topics that might give it a bad impression, whether they're right or wrong. Freedom of speech and all that. If someone wants to make baseless accusations then it's up to the rest of the community to argue with them and defend the festival.

while it's not my job to protect a festival's reputation, there's times I'd take action if I felt it necessary - particularly with something that was known to be highly detrimental and completely unfounded.

The sad fact here is that someone got robbed, and like it or not that's something that happens at all festivals. I'm not going to delete it and pretend that bad stuff like that doesn't happen.

This thread of course goes further than that, and starts with the OP accusing one or more of CT as perhaps being involved. While that's most likely to be unfounded, there's none of us who knows for sure that it is. The sad fact is that despite the 'virtual friendships' that were stuck up before the festival, that says nothing about the reality - and as someone posted earlier in this thread, they're essentially strangers from the internet. I'm casting no aspersions on anyone involved in CT, but it is a fact that on several occasions (if not more) there's been instances of 'forum friends' here ripping others off, so I know it can happen.
