late rumour

just heard from my friend who is on site working. He told me that one of his uni friends has been working on the current tour for take that and they are due to play glasto. I think he said the sat slot. Looking at their tour dates it would fit. He did say that nagotiations had been stop star though. Guess we shall find out soon. I'm no fan of them but it would make my brothers festival. ↲Also sorry if this has been mentioned already. I'm on my phone and can't be arsed to wait 4 pages to load.

omg seriously?! i'd love to see them! couldnt afford to fork out 70 quid a ticket for their tour.

but sadly don't think i could bring myself to sacrifice friendly fires and elbow for them, despite having seen them both before :(

To be fair I heard the same rumour last week. It was after a quote from Mike Batt. However when I went to check the paper who printed it and they had edited the story and removed that part of his quote from the online addition. The story was sent to me via text from a good source and by the time I had checked the online story it was edited.

So could be true could be false.

Cheers though.

Same, heard this rumour a few weeks ago but completely discounted it lol. Then the Pulp and Arctics rumour came to the fore.

I would like to see them, though I am lucky enough to have tickets for 2 weeks time, but still, Glasto is special isn't it. :)

I still think that Pulp will play, though this is only my thoughts after hearing various local rumours, so it's not set in stone.

Although I was convinced it was Arctics Friday & Pulp Saturday, so if it is Take That, what do I know? :D

I thought I'd read somewhere that Take That would not be playing festivals due to the staging that they'd want to put on?

Interesting rumour though, I'd love to see the look on all the Pulp fan's faces when they come on

Surely there is no way this could possibly be true.

I just can't imagine it.

But I'll stop short of saying 'it'll never happen' because it's Glastonbury. And you never quite know with Glastonbury.

I'm still expecting The Killers / Brandon Flowers on one day.

This is not going to happen. If they played in an announced slot high up on the Sunday on the Pyramid, they would likely go down a storm. If they turn up unexpected in the Park without their stage show etc in front of a load of Pulp (etc) fans, it's almost creating the perfect conditions to get bottled off stage.

I have nothing against Take That, and kudos to them if they were to give it a go, but I personally think their management team might be a tad more savvy than this!

Expanding on the Mike Batt thing, I did just see someone on the BBC news saying that the 'Wombles' might actually be some people we'll recognise, how many of them are there...?

from NME Glasto blogs

8pm - Head to The Park for the "special guests"

We're not saying who, because we want to actually get in ourselves, but trust us on this one. You don't want to tell people you were at Ke$ha when the event of the weekend happens. Shoot to the Other Stage for Mumfords afterwards (8.45pm).

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
