QOTSA set?

So I've wisely been spending my lazy Sunday listening to QOTSA...and with only a few weeks to go, surely now's the time for a little setlist speculation?? Now we all know they're touring with their first album and therefore likely to draw pretty heavily from it for their set. Though setlist.fm informs me that they're also playing a fairly wide range of stuff from their other albums. So do we think they'll play the first album in full? Will it be a more eclectic set? Will it consist entirely of Beyoncé covers? If Josh Homme sang nursery rhymes would they still sound like sex?

Looking at their recent gigs, the thing that strikes me is the glaring omission of Feel Good Hit of the Summer. I think I'll cry if they don't play it.

They played Feel Good Hit of the Summer in Manchester, and it does seem to be one of their festival tunes (festivals being in the summer with lots of drugs an' all), so you should be in luck.

I hope more than anythin they play the 1st album in full, my favourite. But you know what Josh Homme's like... he'll be bored of it after this tour. I reckon we'll get something like:

Feel good hit of the summer

go with the flow

Sick, sick, sick

as the 1st 3. Then some like monsters in the parasol+little sister+burn the witch. End with:

Song for the dead

*encore break*

Lost art of keeping a secret

Something f**king awesome (but probs not No one knows, that'll be earlier in the set).

I'd expect exactly the same setlist as they played at Reading and Leeds last year:

Feel Good Hit of the Summer

The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret

3's & 7's

Sick, Sick, Sick

Misfit Love

Monsters in the Parasol

Burn the Witch

Long Slow Goodbye

Little Sister

I Think I Lost My Headache

Go With the Flow

No One Knows

A Song for the Dead

Which is why I won't be seeing them. I really like QOTSA but, they really need some new material.

13 of which were the debut album in full. There is no chance they will do the album show at Glastonbury, not enough people care about it enough to make it worthwhile at a major festival. Also, every festival they've done in the mean time has been a 'greatest hits' set.

Not sure, I think maybe they'll play a set interspersed with both rather than all the first album before playing a few hits, Josh has said he's bored of playing the same setlist plus they are going straight into recording for a new album after the Glasto performance so maybe they'll want to go in with a bang and a bit of momentum rather than a feeling of tedium, I don't know. It'll be a killer of a gig either way!

No chance? I think theres every chance. Are they not getting 90 minutes at Glasters? The recent tour "greatest hits" shows (inverted commas have never been so dripping in sarcasm!) were for shows of less than an hour right? Certainly the fests in NZ and Aus were truncated considerably.

I know Homme is bored to tears with the restrictions placed on him with this tour. But they are sounding pretty 'king amazing as a result. YCQMB and Walking The Sidewalks were MEGA at the recent show in Dublin.

I reckon theres more demand to hear the early stuff at Glasto than there is for the 3's and 7's / Sick Sick Sick stuff that turned a lot of people off them. I saw a rake of shows from the tour in 2008/2009 and they were seriously dicey every odd show.

I think it's very unrealistic to expect them to do an album set, this is a prime slot at a major festival that they or bands like them don't play too often (or get top slots at), so they'll take the opportunity to do a set that shows all of their talents and most appealing songs. Of course they'll throw in album tracks and live favourites because that's what they do, but expeciting one album or a set of b-sides, rarities and album tracks isn't going to happen. That's what you go to the gigs for, the festival slot will be something different.

Looks like we can get what we want from this set

http://www.nme.com/news/queens-of-the-stone-age/56998

Queens Of The Stone Age have asked fans to pick their ten favourite songs by the band, which they will then perform during their set at this summer’s Glastonbury.

During an interview with Zane Lowe for BBC Radio 1 (broadcast May 31), Josh Homme explained how listeners would be able to have a say in the set-list for their headline slot on the Other Stage on Friday June 24.

Voting is open from now until June 9 at 9pm. If you want to have a hand in what songs they play, then visit: www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/zanelowe

Fans will be able to choose from 50 songs from the Queens Of The Stone Age back catalogue.

The results will be unveiled by Josh Homme on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show on June 23, the day before the show.

Highlights from the gig will be broadcast on BBC Radio 1 on June 27.

    • Yeah, I was just joking.
    • Ahhh if anyone manages to grab a spare one of these, would love one! Haven’t been in years & just don’t have the budget, so this would be so amazing!
    • it's already twice as expensive as it used to be just a few years ago, so surely there's not a lot of room for them to increase it much further now. I'd hope not anyway as it's already prohibitively expensive!
