Stones playing Hyde Park?

so it does...

maybe they have this page run every year on the off chance that they might do it

funny how the map shows the stage as being the same place as their '69 concert

maybe it's a warm up for their surprise appearance at The Park... :lol:

in 2006 there was various events in Hyde park over a two week period - but not every day- you would imagine they would leave the fence up but in fact I have site maps showing the fence was made larger and then reduced again

I was working at each event but I forget the running order { it does not matter now } but I do know tickets went on sale months before the event - I think the last weekend it was Roger Waters and The Who { and the previous ones were called London Calling and Wireless but they did slip in other days }

By the way due to water supplies etc etc the stage for Wireless etc etc is closer to Park Lane { well it was in previous years }

Livenation would have to supply a bar location map to the council four weeks before the event so they cant just add it on to any other event they are holding in the days after that.

Well if they do play I will miss it as I will be onsite at Glastonbury by that date.

It does seem rather unlikely given that they don;t seem to be anywhere near ready to tour and there's only 6 weeks to go. Maybe the holder is for another big act set to play that day that wants to keep the gig under wraps til they;re ready to announce it, and doesn't need a lot of preparation. U2 could be one - a warm up for Glasto using a stripped down set. Macca (again) could be another as his whole tour strategy now is to play Stadium sized gigs at just a few weeks notice.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
