Its my first time at Glasto this year and it will be my 21st birthday on the Saturday night so want to make the most of it while I am there.

Has anyone got any ideas of the best places to celebrate after the acts have finished in to the early hours Sunday morning, and why you think its the best.

I spent my 18th at Glastonbury, just last year. I was definitely one for the park, with its oxygen bar and silent disco!

But I would've ventured to Shangri-La, personally.. If my company would have been more adventurous :D

There used to be a female who had a Birthday on 24 th June so in 2000 the WBC staff held a birthday party for her - wind forward two years and there was another birthday party for her even although Glastonbury was held over 28 - 30 June so I pointed this out - She claimed ' well it would have been this weekend if they did not change it ' - she tried it again in 2003 { once again the dates did not match up } but I don't think they held a party for her - she was never seen again.

there must be thousands who have a birthday some time over that period so perhaps organising a mass birthday party is one idea.

This is also our wedding anniversary date, married on Saturday 24th June in 2006 and there was nothing else to celebrate! ;)

However your 2009 day is wrong as it was a Wednesday, not a Friday. It will fall on Friday this year though, so yay!!!

In 2009 I'd forgotten it was my birthday, was coming up lying on the floor in a smallish tent in the dance village on the Thursday night...and then at just that moment all my mates traipse in from outside and burst into a chorus of Happy Birthday...the other people in the tent looked bemused, i wanted the ground to swallow me up, thinking 'oh no this is terrible, they are ruining all these people's highs'...and then the entire tent joined in...it was absolutely phenomenal, I was covered head to toe in goosepimples and after that initial moment of uneasiness a ridiculously jolly feeling broke out amongst the revellers.

As if that wasn't enough, later on up at stone circle one of my mates grabbed a megaphone off some bloke and launched into a Stevie Wonder version of Happy Birthday and the whole crowd joined in...I didn't know where to look, but it was something i'll never forget!

This year i'll turn 27 at midnight on the Saturday, probably just after the chemical brothers ;)

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
    • Yeah Roy's Tune was lovely. Looking forward to the whole thing hopefully going on iPlayer.   It's scattered dates they have this year really, proper tour/s to come next year - suspect a new single will drop in the next couple of months, providing the album is done.
