But it does, because I don't like New Order, and they aren't Joy Division are they

My point is a common argument on here is "Well, they won't be doing anything in 30 years will they!" when I can count on one, at most two hands the number of acts who've had a career that long who've maintained the quality of their work throughout.

Doesn't matter if you've been making stuff for 25 years if you've got two good albums and 13 of dross does it!

The Maccabees have writtern an album that is perhaps relevant to today, James turned up thinking it was still the 1990s. I mean enjoy your set, play your songs, but remember its not YOUR gig, its a festival, get of the freakin' stage!

I know NO aren't JD, otherwise they'd be called JD, but all I was saying is they didn't really go away, they just changed their name and added another member of the band. I like them both, but JD are yet another band with an elevated status due to the lead singer killing himself (see also: Nirvana). Technique by NO is a far better album than anything JD produced in their brief spell.

Excellent news if true, is very dependent on the setlist though as others have said.

Saw them at V a few years ago and was a little disappointed. However, saw them headlining Bingley last year and they were immense. And then i caught the drumstick at the end for the first time in my gigging career!

Now just need to get myself organised for the resale on sunday...

and it might be because I am in a bit of a high horse mood today, but I bet his fave song is Mr Brightside because you can "go mental" to it ;)

(this is all mainly said in jest, and im sure the guy posting isnt actually like that, but a lot of people are, including a lot of my friends!!)

Don't forget to the vast majority of people, especially those under 30 odd, James are the band that they "sat down" on the dancefloor to when they were students, and possible the ones who sing "that one about getting laid" on American Pie - essentially making them a joke band to a lot of people, along with comments of "why are they still going" etc...
