i'm going to end this by saying you are wrong. Bloc Party do talk rubbish for the hell of it, if you don't think so or even know so, you haven't quite caught on. If you think it's just to troll interviewers, then you are wrong. Regardless if they do or don't play, they DO lie whatever.

Why would Russell Lissack outright say on twitter, to fans, on numerous occasions that they aren't playing if they were? If they were and he didn't want people to know, he'd say nothing!

ITS WHAT THEY DO. THEY ARE KNOWN FOR IT. IN FACT THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY WOULD DO.

If you shouldn't care, then why do you?

End of the day if they sub The Roses, I'll get a V day ticket, simple as. There's no desperation. I don't have a weekend ticket for one band.

On the Bloc Party twitter thing, surely if they were asked if they were playing R&L they would just say no. If they said something gay like "you'll have to wait and find out" is a bigger hint than just saying no. Saying no, doesn't mean no.

I think the thing about Bloc Party which is being objected to is that it's impossible to make a blanket statement such as "they're not playing." It's alright to say "it appears they're not playing" etc. but to make a blanket statement completely ruling it out just can't be done.

With regards to Primal Scream, I'm a fan and everything, but the difference is, they are on their way down from popularity, where as Bloc Party are still at the height of their game, and arguably going to reach even further heights. PS are definitely not big enough to headline, and there would be a very bad reaction.

Hot Chip would be a great booking, think they would headline NME.

I assume the K.O.L suggestions are a joke, but I could see FR turning to that out of desperation.

    • Looking like will be bringing a 2-3 month old to Glastonbury next year
    • Healey's first budget with be Oct 28th
    • Been going for 10 years. Wasn't massively keen on the lineup beforehand - although as usual after some research I did start to really look forward to it. We had a brilliant time, felt more like old school Latitude, lovely vibe and we met some nice people. We saw loads but highlights for me -   Lime Garden Florence Road Jalen Ngonda David Byrne - Not a fan of him or TH really but we went out of interest and it was one of those festival shows that you'll never forget. The staging was off the scale. Eleni Drake - Up on BBC Introducing, what a haven that stage is.  Westside Cowboy Getdown Services - Probably highlight of the weekend for me. Absolutely brilliant and have booked tix for them in Bristol next year. Everything Everything - They're my favourite band so I loved it when they were added. A great start to Sunday and met loads of their fans up near the front. Alex James Britpop - We enjoyed it and Gary Stringer FFS! David O'Doherty - Saw him twice, brilliant as usual. Self Esteem - Adore Rebecca and the show was as live affirming as always.   Overall, it was such a brilliant weekend. Beforehand we said that we might give it a miss next year but I'm pretty sure that we'll be sucked right back in!
    • Me too.  Reckon they must have more this year.   Not bad is it - ended up paying same price as this year.  It still represents great value for me.  Well, until I check my bank account the Monday after the weekend.
    • Well mayors have more powers to do that sh*t...but they have to make the numbers add up.
